On tap at GB KC. The body was very dark brown. The aroma was roasted coffee with some light caramel. The taste was roasted coffee and caramel. Again, another GB beer with a nice clean finish. Probably the best I had while at GB in KC.

On tap at the Arena District location. Dark brown in color with a medium tan head. Malty caramel aroma with a touch of hop. Malt flavor up front with a coffee and hop finish. Not bad.

On tap at the DC location. Reviewed from notes. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a slight tan head and a bit of lacing. The nose is darkly-roasted malts with some light chocolate as well as a moderate amount of earthy hops. The taste is a bit more subdued. There is some nice roast, but the chocolate and earthy notes from the nose are quite a bit more muted. The feel is nice and pretty roasty. Fairly dry in general with a nice finish. Drinkability is decent enough, but there’s not enough there to keep me hanging on. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-13-2010

This poured a very dark brown almost black color with a small eggshell head. Aroma was slightly roasted but pretty bland. Flavor was pretty watery, slightly roasted and sweet.

On tap at 2011 Denver Brew at the Zoo. Very dark clear ruby brown with a light khaki head. Very faint aroma overall, but theres some black malt, with some light coffee and toffee in there. Body proves to be just too light. Light dark malt tones, light coffee, light toastiness. Good, just light and unexciting.

On tap at Gordon Biersch, Buffalo, NY. Mahogany with a ring of cream head; coffee aroma; coffee taste; and a dry finish. Satisfying.

Not so bad really, just, well, not so good. Pours dark maroon with some vague notion of head and lacing. Aroma has an IOU roast with a hint of coffee even. Light bitter finish. Average carbonation, as can be expected. Tap at brewpub.

Quite roasty aroma. This definitely is the most complex of the beers I’ve had from these guys. Roasty and a bit heavier; not amazing but good. Still light enough to have a few.
