3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is sweet pilsener malt with a light apple aroma, hint of corn. Appearance is golden clear with small off white head. Taste is crisp pilsener malt with a bit of tangy hop flavor. Light apple flavor with a lingering tartness as well as a minerally hop bitterness. Palate is light medium, a crisp and refreshing beer. Overall a nice Kolsch, a excellent backyard beer on a warm day. Malt could be bigger, but still one of the better American made versions IMO.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Rite-Aid: Poured a sparkling golden liquid topped with a tiny formation of foam across the top. Aroma is mild with a whiff of grass or dried out hay but also has some notes of spice or banana like esters. The flavor is bland but does have a solid balance between hop and malt that makes for a worthy Kolsch style beer. Would have preferred buying a twelve pack over a mixed variety pack especially during sommer.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Well derp, this beer was there at a BBQ. It’s yellow with a fizzy white head. Bready malt aroma with grassy hops and some diacetyl. The flavor is average, pilsner malt with a medium floral/grassy hop finish. Light on the palate with high carbonation. OK but derp.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
This brew isn’t as skunky as expected, but quite disappointing for a remake of the standard european summer brew. A solid pour with a think white head.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Tap, Seattle. Pours a crystal clear dark gold body with a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is sweet and buttery with some honey like malt. The flavor is really heavy on the diacetyl with not much else making an impact. Some weak watery caramel on the finish. Light to medium bodied, a little sticky and clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty darn bad, all diacetyl and not much else. Pretty awful for me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear light golden color with a billowy white head. The head has a lighter level of retention, fading to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – A slightly sweet fruity aroma of pear and peach as well as a little bit of sweet honey complement a decently strong bready smell nicely. Along with these aromas are some hoppy smells of a light herbal and grassy nature producing a rather nice smelling brew overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a somewhat crisp cracker like flavor mixed with a bit of graininess and a lighter sweetness of a fruity nature with some pear, white grape, and apple. Quickly some hop flavors come to the tongue, with a lighter flavor of grass and hay being the strongest. As the taste advances these hop flavors get stronger in nature all while the fruit flavors fade some. The fruit however has a slight resurgence at the end however, with the mix of tastes leaving a moderately sweet, but still rather crisp and clean, lightly hopped, malt flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite thin with a carbonation level that is very high. The combination of the two really create a wonderfully crisp drinking beer, complementing the blend of lighter fruit flavors, malt, and grassy hop flavors rather well.
Overall – A fairly nice kolsch. Nothing super extraordinary, but very enjoyable none the less.
