jmcguire1969 (144), Lafayette, Colorado, USA Jun 29, 2007 Broomfield, Colorado...this is a poor representation of a Kolsch. Way to much malt character in this one. The clarity was way off and the carbonation was weak. I like my home brewed (extract even) Kolsch better than this one. It figures that GB screws up an ale since they mostly do lagers. This is a way underappreciated style that I’m hoping brewers start to fill up their fermenters with. I appluad GB for having this in their seasonal rotation and hope to see it on the menu again...they’ll figure it out.
DragonStout (1247), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2008 On tap at the Columbus location.Pours a translucent gold color with a nice white lacing on the edge. The nose was malty and hoppy.Flavor was hoppy, crisp with a light mouthfeel.Finished of slightly bitter. This definately a lght, refreshing summer beer. unclemattie (1747), Georgia, USA Sep 10, 2008 2008 Southern Brewers Fest . Tap. Atlanta Brewpub. Golden yellow, very little haze. Light malted aroma. Slight fruit, hints of lemon. Flavor is light malt. Very balanced. Very light. Good for everday enjoyment. Just not mind blowing enough for my curious mind. golubj (1133), Redwood City, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 Draft, at the San Jose airport location. Brownish gold color with some lasting off-white head. Aroma was lager-like with some slightly citrusy hops. Flavor is some biscuity malt, sort of grainy but somewhat sweet also and APA style hopping. I thought this was either an APA or a hopped-up winter lager. Sort of strange beer, but enjoyed it. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Aug 13, 2008 Name: Summergold
Beershine (1526), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 8, 2008 Miami location. Served in excellent tall Kolsch glass. Pure gold, mostly clear, white 1/2 inch head. Lemony, lemon-lime soda aromas are inviting on a hot day and suggest refreshment if not super beer. Thin body. Decent crisp, peppery hop aftertaste but altogether an unexceptional brew.
