COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can.
Ingredients: Water, Malt, Sugar, Hops.
In 1992, Gordon launches Finest Gold, a strong and refined beer with a typically Scottish character, combining the forces of charm and persuasion. Its origins and its strength (10% degrees of alcohol) give it its smooth taste and explosive nature. The taste of this incomparable beer is nevertheless entirely suited to the new demand of its many enthusiasts. Gordon Finest Gold is today available in 33 cl and 50 cl cans.

GoufCustom (874) - HONG KONG - DEC 27, 2013

330 ml bottle bought at Belgian Beer International in Tsuen Wan.

Clear golden amber colour; Half finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Moderate sticky lacing with quite fizzy carbonation; Sweet smell of lager malt, with syrup, light dull perfume, light bubble gum, faint wet cardboard and faint grass; Very sweet taste of lager malt, with pretty strong alcohol, medicine syrup, flashes of nectar, light bread, light liquorices, faint lemon and grass; Mid to light body, watery and slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is 100% European Strong Pale Lager: taste is lager malt, sugary sweet, remarkable alcohol, quite malty (at least no corn here), and low-fi hops. The sickly sweet medicine syrups and dull nectar pretty much characterize the Mocny nature of this brew; The 10% abv is initially loud to make its presence felt, but stay quiet along the way, only the sweetness is a little annoying. Okay… Hoppiness is Mocny standard: faint grassy nose, comfy lemon and grass taste. Liquorices is noticeable for a low and semi long bitter-sweet finish; Wet after taste, sweet and boozy to mouth.

Comments: This is definitely a Strong Pale Lager and just because it was brewed in Belgium, there is not a hint to indicate this fits the style group of Belgian Strong Ale. As a Euro Strong Pale / Mocny, this is quite decent - okay nose, good maltyness, no other adjucts and fusels, sweetness and booze is very strong but not too demanding, and hopiness is stronger than most SPLs. Better than most SPLs and Super Strengths and approach it that way and you’ll be okay.

Xenomorph (58) - Sundgau, FRANCE - DEC 14, 2013

Shared a 33cl can from Delheize (Luxembourg). Pours a clear golden colour with thin white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and alcohol. Average carbonation and medium body. Flavour is more sweet than bitter, with some boring vanilla notes. Overall, not bad but probably not to repeat.

Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of sugary malts, alcohol, not much else. Very nasty booziness to it. I expect more from this brewery. This is dangerously close to the trash alcoholic bums buy at supermarkets.

Clear golden yellow with lacing white foam head. Aroma is yeast, barley and alcohol. Taste is strong pilsener with alcohol clearly present. (Velp 201311) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Its like a strong version of a blonde/bruin, with more explosive flavour and aroma, and a bit too alcoholic.

16.09.2013. 0,5l Can. Golden yellow colour with white head. Strong malty aroma. Rich beer with alcohol and sweet malts. Strong with low bitterness. Aftertaste is soft. This beer is a little heavy and its not very refreshing. Low on carbobation to.

Worthless sugar water. Clear and flat, has nothing but sweetness. Tastes like a failed brew.

Looks like a pale lager (clear with small head). Smells like an under-attenuated eastern-European pale lager (sweet, buttery, corn). Tastes like an under-attenuated eastern-European pale lager with a shot of grain alcohol poured in. Has basically nothing "Belgian" about it. Is, in a word, crap.
