2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thomat (1200) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2011
Golden with a small white head. Sweet with fruity notes. Alcohol, malt, fruit and sweetness. Full body with a dry, bittersweet finish.

This one too be handled with care. You will notice the 10 percent of alcohol in the drink, but then it’s too late. When poured into it’s strange shaped glass it forms a nice thick foam head that stays on for a couple of minutes. The taste is fresh but it has a lot of alcohol in it. Not so strange for a 10% beer. It has hints of coriander and other herbs that I failed to recognise, but they were there. Good beer, but drink responsible.

I poured a 330ml can into an oversize wine glass.
Appearance: Dark gold, clear body. No carbonation evident. Forms bright white, soapy head that fades away and leaves no lacing and little retention.
Smell: Like every other cheap European pale lager only stronger and with rubbing alcohol.
Taste: Like every other cheap European pale lager only stronger and with rubbing alcohol. I never understood the appeal of those beers that taste like wet rubber gloves - why someone would want to imperialize that style blows my mind. This is basically like drinking corn syrup mixed with carbonated rubbing alcohol. Its sour, tangy, grainy and just all around unpleasant. I’ve had worse, though, and this beer is at least drinkable - but just barely.
Mouthfeel: Imagine the thickest lager you’ve ever had san carbonation.
Drinkability: If drank ice cold it’s tolerable. Once it begins to warm up just a degree or two it turns into a total sipper. Foul taste and prominent 10% ABV make it very intense in the mouth.
Overall, it’s not so much bad as it is strange. Not sure who would find this appealing. I’d rather drink two Heinekens to get the same buzz from one can of this beer.

Like its red counterpart, this is not too horrible. Might even try it again, some day.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2011 tall can: literally vomit inducing, like a macro pale lager with way too noticeable alcohol, for people looking to get pissed, too expensive for that, worthless
3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 AshtonMcCobb (937) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 14, 2011
33cl bottle. Golden (as the name says) and very well carbonated with some head retention. The nose is a bit tight, but eventually there are creamy and pale malt aromas. The taste is much bigger with lemon tart and vanilla custard being prominent. The palate has a very large structure, a creamy texture and a refreshing finish. Overall, this is a big but well balanced beer. Great!
