COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can.
Ingredients: Water, Malt, Sugar, Hops.
In 1992, Gordon launches Finest Gold, a strong and refined beer with a typically Scottish character, combining the forces of charm and persuasion. Its origins and its strength (10% degrees of alcohol) give it its smooth taste and explosive nature. The taste of this incomparable beer is nevertheless entirely suited to the new demand of its many enthusiasts. Gordon Finest Gold is today available in 33 cl and 50 cl cans.

I love it strong and curiously tasty, one of the best beers I have ever tasted

This is a pretty good beer, I thought. Couldn’t tell it was 10%. I thought it seemed like a light triple. However, I did have this near the end of a very large tasting, where scores generally go up.

Had itbefore already from bottle and draft. Now once more from draught. A very nice and good tasting strong beer. Something sweet and fruity in the taste

I had one brewed by Palm, Belgium. Banana aroma. Golden/orange colour. White rocky head. Sweet, bit syrupy, alcohol bitterness, nice but not interesting. Long sticky finish with alcohol burning.

Nice mix of hops and malt in scent. Golden amber, big fluffy head. Strong alcohol at first, with some bitterness and sweetness. Typical Belgian Strong Ale tingle. Complex. Very good.

The colour is golden yellow; the big, hard foam is white. The smell is full of fruity notes: Sweet apples, apricots and peaches are mixed with the smell of alcohol. The taste is sweet with hints of puff pastry, wheat flour and fruit-flavoured marshmallows, but not in an annoying way. It got a light, plain taste of hops in the background. The soft aftertaste is quite alcoholic, but it got notes of sweet bread, butter (diacetyl) and marzipan. I enjoyed this beer, shame about the high level of alcohol. After drinking a bottle (330 ml), I got very tired and a bit dizzy. Which is strange, I don’t get that reaction when I drink a pint of ESB that contains as much alcohol as in this bottle.

33cL bottle. Clear golden color with medium head. The aroma is very malty like you would expect from a Scottish ale. The flavor is definitely of a scotch ale: malty, sweet, alcohol, kiwi, and vanilla come to mind. Quite enjoyable as it warms. It is a very interesting beer worth trying. Thanks Bob!
