COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and can.
Ingredients: Water, Malt, Sugar, Hops.
In 1992, Gordon launches Finest Gold, a strong and refined beer with a typically Scottish character, combining the forces of charm and persuasion. Its origins and its strength (10% degrees of alcohol) give it its smooth taste and explosive nature. The taste of this incomparable beer is nevertheless entirely suited to the new demand of its many enthusiasts. Gordon Finest Gold is today available in 33 cl and 50 cl cans.

Pale yelow colour with a moderate white head and nice lacing on the glass. Pleasant light bitterness with an interesting twist. I am curious as to what type of hopes are used. Slightly sweet alcoholic undercurrent was the only indication of this bottles strength.

#1270 Ein goldgelbes "Bier" mit süßen, malzbetonten Einschlag. Leider auch ziemlich spritig im Abgang, so dass die anderen Geschmacksnuancen an die Wand gedrückt werden. Too much.

Pours a clear and dark golden beer with a white head. The aroma is malt, DMS and notes of sulphur. The flavor follows the nose with additional notes of alcohol. The palate is sweetness with alcoholwarmth. Overall this beer is below average.

Poured from a half litre can, into two Gordon Thistle glasses, I was really looking forward to drinking it. Best by date 07/2007, drank 11/2006. Looked good, clear, sparkling and proud, with a thin wispy white head. Not a smell to comment on really, nothing bad, just nothing! Tasted OK, but penicillin with an alcoholic bite, came to my mind. Nasty aftertaste which lingered, a kind of alcohol with no body to it. Very difficult to explain, but not a good feel to it. Drinkability, made me burp, a sicky type of burp at that! Sadly, this canned product was a total letdown, my two beautiful Thistle glasses (paid for, years ago in Belgium) will be used for other beers, I will not be trying this in a tinned form again.

Dark blond colour. Some banana in the aroma. Feels very silky and quite rich in the mouth. Flavour is sugary and sweet but this balances quite well with the high alcohol content.
