aceofhearts (1373), San Francisco, California, USA Jun 4, 2007 Bottle. Amber, transluscent, not a whole lot of head. Nice perfume/plum aroma, but the flavor is a little more off-balance than I had hoped. This could be 5% or 9% and I honestly wouldn’t know without looking. Oh yeah...8.6%. It has the sharpness of something strong but without the warming qualities. An odd beer but not too bad.
Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 27, 2008 A dark amber ale with a thin offwhite head. Apleasant caramel aroma, non-descript. In mouth, a peaty malt, oily mouthfeel, light licorice, not bad but not what I expected. Medium bodied. Bottle at De Bekeerde Suster, Amsterdam, Nov. 2006, 3.90 Euro. ogivlado (2394), Zagreb, Croatia Sep 3, 2008 On tap at Cafe Melaan, Mechelen, Belgium.
Ruby mahagony coloured, medium sized creamy pale beige head, fruity vinous nose. Light roasted malt, fruits and alcoholic with mild yeasty and toffee notes. Also notes of berries, sourish discreet alcoholic finish. Very good and pleasant beer. Angeloregon (2002), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 2, 2008 Thanks to Abram for the taster of this beer--Poured from a bottle a deep ruby-bronze body with dark brown tones. Mild off-white swirling head. Nose of fruity sweet malts, plums, and brown sugar. Mild peat zest and a clean, Scotch finish. Good beer! Bragesnak (1338), Aarhus, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 From Skjold-Burne, Aarhus, DK.
Bottled, 230808.
Brown with beige head. Aroma of malt and fruit notes. Flavor is caramel and raisins. Bit too sweet. BartC (253), Lichtaart, Belgium Aug 22, 2008 Brown beer with an off-white head. Fruity aroma and taste. Also maltiness and dark fruits in the mouth. At the end I noticed some alcohol.
