Ramenen (339), San Salvador, El Salvador Jul 13, 2008 Thanks to rcasta who brought it all the way down from Porto, Portugal. Whew! This beer was created to get you drunk fast. Alcohol too overpowering. Allen (592), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Jul 10, 2008 Canned 50 cl. A fully golden beer. Nice white head. Decent lacing. Fruity malty alcoholic nose. Very strong. Slightly pleasant. Hints of marmite. Metallic taste. Malty. Too much alcohol in this one. Some faint hop character. For a malt liquor it’s rather good, but for a belgian strong ale, its poor. Way better than any Amsterdam malt liquor. goldtwins (3734), Nesconset, New York, USA Jul 2, 2008 Thanks Beastie. I love the can. Malt Liquor Belgian style. Poured a clear gold yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was sweet and grainy with alcohol in the nose. Fairly sweet flavor. The finish was bitter and peppery from alcohol. bhensonb (2887), Woodland, California, USA Jun 1, 2008 50 cl. can. Medium gold color with a frothy white head. Mostly corny aroma, but there seems to be underlying light stone fruit as well. Medium body with creamy carbonation. It’s all about the alcohol. It burns. The flavors, if any, are rather dissolved in it. Resembles high gravity American lagers, but definitely not so sickening. Drunk for little money. Who needs flavor for that?
