UPDATED: JUL 26, 2004 Canned. Aroma is alcoholic, apples (yes apples..). Amber coloured beer with firm head. Taste is malty and alcoholic. Sweet, bitter amd alcohol. Metallic and sharp palate. This beer is no good... very much no good. Okay it’s better than it’s brother the gold version...
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20 Ungstrup (23984) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 7, 2004
A dark amber beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is of sweet caramalt. The flavor is awful - too sweet with notes of caramel and the alcohol burning the mouth. Yuk - I don’t like this.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAY 14, 2004
Strong apple aroma. Red, beige head, very nice lace. Sweet to very sweet, light spices, light bitter to bitter in the finish, strong apple flavor, little sticky, alcohol burning sensation in the finish. Not bad at all for a macro brewed beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Nagash (202) - Paris, FRANCE - JUL 1, 2003
Quite good beer but the alcohol taste is too strong. Strange watery and mettallic finish. Nice aroma and flavor.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 radiomgb (2078) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 11, 2003
Deep amber in colour with an aroma of fruit. The flavour was sweet but at the same time it coated my mouth with a disturbing bitterness that I did not enjoy. The finish was slightly harsh if not a bit metallic. It's a shame that this bottle cost me over $8.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Oakes (10196) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 9, 2003
Miggedy mack nasty. Amber-red colour. Slightly metallic, grainy aroma with a touch of caramel , whiskey and slight apple fruitiness. Strong alcoholic punch, palate wise - fusels and general unpleasantness from corn and sugar. The finish is all St. Ides.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DougShoemaker (3149) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2003
Sweet, malty nose. Ruby colour, with a fair sized creamy head. Caramel, treacle flavours, sweet, warming, like cognac. A robust example of the style.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hildigöltur (5107) - København, DENMARK - MAR 29, 2003
This is truly a strange brew. Nice reddish colour with fine head. It is very sweet and fruity. Some strange artificial cherry notes in the flavour. I don't know if I like or not.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Mads Langtved (2246) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - MAR 28, 2003
Quite light and fruity. It surprised me that the er was 8,8 ABV!!!. A really thirst quencher and a party starter. However a little artificial and chewinggum alike.
1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - FEB 1, 2003
[8.8 % ABV] Red-amber color, creamy head. Aroma of cheap Strong Lager. And definitively tastes like any Strong Lager, just with some maltiness and sweetnees above the average; alcoholic. Poor palate.
