Dark amber pour with a foamy head, sour lambic aroma. Taste is very sweet, fading finish. Just about drinkable

A great amber, a little to spicy and peppery for my taste, but it went well with my dinner.

My can says 8.4% ABV, rather than 8% Burnished copper colour; thin amberish tinted head. Crude alcoholic, sweet-liqueurish nose. Soap - and artichoke (?) and almonds aromas. Sweet & alcoholic taste, palate filling it with a faint but clear almond flavour - always a bad sign in my book. There are quite some indifferent malts, adjunct-like. Extremely thin MF for an 8+ ABV beer. Yet there’s some syrupy texture for some seconds. Aftertaste is metallic. Barely worth the can.

Thick white-brownish head. Red-amber beer. Nose of banana's, peaches, a bit of alcohol & caramel malt. Bitter taste, bananas, very bubble-gummy, sweet underbuild. Good carbonation, bitterness is very much in the palate, but the sweetness is there all the way till the end. Alcohol present but well-hidden by all the sweetness. Powerful, but unrefined. I wonder if there's much difference with the 'ordinary' Red Gordon. No competition for the origan Scotch and X-mas.

(on bottle, thx jeppe)actually I would have taken this one for a nice little ale; turning out to be a lager, it must have been the very sweet and spicy nose, that had me on a wild goose chase. it´s very dark orange, like rust, with a white, disapearing head. Powerfull, aromaitics, barley, pumkin/squash and cloves. A bit hard on the alcohol in the finish, gets almost metallic and icky on the palate.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2008 Lovely red colour with a respectable head. Caramel malt aroma with some alcohol. Sweet flavour, also with caramel and alcohol, nothing else going on really. When I drink beer with this high an abv I expect some flavour but overall this is simply two-dimensional and bland.

Can in Brugge. Pours a dark clear amber with a frothy beige head. Light aromas of hop and spice. Somewhat sweet aroma. Medium plus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is malt and hop. Maybe some kandi. More malt liquor than lager in my view. Also seems a bit salty. Pass.

Bottle: some malt, some caramel, sugary sweet, bubblegum, mainly alcohol, kind of harsh, like a cheap malt liquer, quite bad.

6,6% on the label. Bottle from Dortmunder: thanks! Reddish brown color. Apple and some plastic in the aroma. Grainy flavor with apple, grapes and plastic. Somewhat vinous. Not worth a second try. I wouldn’t be surprised, judging from the label, if this beer was brewed by Bavaria Lieshout.

Bottled @ train to Odense: Amber coloured. Clear. Small light brown head. Malty and sweet aroma with some light alcohol notes. Flavour is dry, sweet and light grasssy. Is light watery, but has a medium body. .Is quite alchoholdense in the end.
