COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gordon Scotch Ale was born in the limpid highlands among isolated lochs and haunting Scottish castles. This brown beer, reminiscent of a dark ruby, is full of contrast - both strong and smooth. Its creamy head is delectation for the palate. This unique nectar can also be discovered under the name of Douglas Scotch Ale. Has been renamed ’Finest Scotch’ in 2006.
Note: ABV at some point from 8.6% to 8%.

(bottle) clear deep amber-brown colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of hazelnuts, brown sugar and melted butter, slightly perfumed, with a hint of toasted wheat and grilled mushrooms. flavour is mostly roasted malts and alcohol, with a touch of herbal hops, more earth, lots of liquorice and a light-bitter finish. heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

Draught sample at Porter & Sons, Tel Aviv. Clear light copper with small white head. Sweet aroma with notes of raisin and date honey, a bit syrupy. Very sweet flavor, syrupy, notes of date honey, raisin and dried fruits, a bit alcoholic. Soft carbonation, medium-bodied.

330 ml bottle. Clear, dark amber body with a small off-white head. Quite strong aroma of roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar and dry fruit. Flavor is sticky sweet malt, roasted caramel, dry fruit, syrup, dry fruit and some sharp bitterness towards the end. Full body and sweet malty aftertaste. To sweet and sticky for me and a bit too boozy as well.

lello4ever (203) - ITALY - APR 10, 2015
