COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gordon Scotch Ale was born in the limpid highlands among isolated lochs and haunting Scottish castles. This brown beer, reminiscent of a dark ruby, is full of contrast - both strong and smooth. Its creamy head is delectation for the palate. This unique nectar can also be discovered under the name of Douglas Scotch Ale. Has been renamed ’Finest Scotch’ in 2006.
Note: ABV at some point from 8.6% to 8%.

Keg, Boulogne Sur Mer. Nov 2012. Complex and warming, with a depth of flavour to match the alcohol. Beautifully balanced - like Newcastle Brown on steroids.

(Keg at ’t Pothuiske, 20130604) The beer poured deep reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and almost white. Aroma had caramell, chocolate, sweetness and malts. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, sweetness, raisin, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. Nothing special. A stong malty brew.

Helder, kastanjebruin bier. Minimaal schuim. Aroma van gebrande mouten, appelstroop. Vooral zoet, licht bitter, heel licht zuur. Medium body, olieïg. Medium co2. Lekker bier.

Bottle 33cl. Roasted, chocolat, toffee, drop in the aroma. Amber colour, offwhite head that slowly fades but laces. Something fruity in the taste. I think orange. Sugar, anise, biscuit. Long aftertaste with something bitter of coffee coming up, roasted. Dry and thick. It had something warming, special, but not my favorite style I guess.

On tap at "le coup de pompe" in Nantes. Pours brown , see trough . Not much on smell , sweet, malty taste, light and refreshing . Second time drinking this style. Definitely not for me. Too much taste of red fruit (cherry, prune or something like that). N

Not what I was expecting to find at a mini-market on Santorini. Brown with ruby highlights. Darkly bittersweet.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought somewhere in Belgium. Red brown with a thin off-white head. Malty nose with some hints of rye, although the latter is no ingredient. Must be the roasted barley then. Nice bitter taste with some molasses sweetness. Good long aftertaste.

malt caramel and deep toffee and alcohol hues on the nose. The appearance is a beautiful deep amber with a good head and lacing. Taste is lots toffee and caramel, middle has orange peel and touch of fennel bonfire toffee finish, lasting. Very sweet leading to a lightly bitter finish. Far from a great scotch, but they are not common beers so beggars can’t be choosers. A decent effort.
