COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gordon Scotch Ale was born in the limpid highlands among isolated lochs and haunting Scottish castles. This brown beer, reminiscent of a dark ruby, is full of contrast - both strong and smooth. Its creamy head is delectation for the palate. This unique nectar can also be discovered under the name of Douglas Scotch Ale. Has been renamed ’Finest Scotch’ in 2006.
Note: ABV at some point from 8.6% to 8%.

Bottle, picked up in a Brussels supermarket. Clear, dark copper colour. Lasting, light tan head. Nose is nutty. Some squidgy malts. Toffee. Burnt caramel. Booze and yeast. Taste is caramel sweet. Vine fruit dryness. Some burnt bitterness. Bit of booze on the palate. Not overly smooth. Dryish finish.

Kolor: Rubinowy. Bardzo lubię ten kolor. Piwo w pełni klarowne.
Piana: Przybrudzona biel, szybko opada , drobne pęcherzyki. Perfekcyjnie oplata ścianki kielicha.
Zapach : Sympatyczny. Generalnie jest słodko-słodowo. Jest tutaj sporo słodkich aromatów: ciemne i czerwone owoce. Najwyraźniej można wyczuć wiśnie i czereśnie. Troszeczkę chmielowych nut również się pojawia.
Smak: Błogi i słodki, ale nie zamulający. Czuć znowu wiśnie i czereśnie, a także karmel i miód. Na koniec rodzynki oraz suszone owoce. Goryczka średnia. 8% alkoholu świetnie zamaskowane.
Wysycenie: Średnie.
Podsumowanie:
Ciekawy styl i gładkie odczucie w ustach.

Mild aroma. Sweet syruppy caramel brew. Sticky mouthfeel mid bodied. Like a nice brown ale its sweet, nutty, and toasty. Nice brew but nothing exceptional.

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 09/04/2017 Deep ruby body, beige head is small but persistent. Malty nose - treacle, honey, sweet chewy biscuit, tea cake, heather, red fruits & spicy/floral/earthy sort of undertones. Body is full without being as rich as expected, some stickiness & chewiness nonetheless, subdued carbonation. Loads of caramel, toffee, treacle on the palate, red fruits come through once again, subtle vanilla undertones, cereals, heather, meadow notes, faint peaty smokiness. Booze dries out finish, touch of warmth, decent bitterness. Really enjoyed this - would be lovely off-cask. Despite its origins, it really captures the essence of the Highlands, and the sort of ales native to the region.

Pours ruby red with tight sudsy beige head. Toffee malts dominate the aroma, with some butterscotch, plum and raisin. Lots of toffee and caramel in the flavour too, cherry, raisins, a little gentle grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, light prickliness. Fairly good scotch ale.

Bottle into an elaborate branded thistle glass at Hotel Centrum, Beersel. Split with Colin and Steve. Dark brown, still, opaque, big foamy tan head, full lacing. Aroma is earthy, yeast, toffee. Body is light, tingly carbonation, foamy. Taste is bread, toffee, sugars, molasses, soft sweet finish with some twig. One dimensional sweet stuff. A bit boring, but alright.
