2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DeanF (1489) - Iqaluit, - NOV 20, 2010
More from Gordon’s.... sigh. With these types of brewers I hope that, as the alcohol percentage heads lower, that their drinks will be more palatable. Indeed, if I wanted a high-alc concoction, why wouldn’t I just buy a bad vodka? Why go to the trouble of a lamely-brewed beer? Yet, these high-alc brews still have a strong presence, implying that drinkers have a passion for drinking bad beer to get drunk instead of just drinking bad vodka. So: this one pours with a decent head and a boring gold colour. Aroma is mostly malts with a hint of alcohol, but it’s not overbearing. The taste is a smooth bunch of nothing, like a pale lager and with little flavour aside from a hint of grain and corn. Smooth, at least. Very good for Gordon’s, but of course, that is not a complement!!

Can, bought @ AD Delhaize, Brussels.
Clear golden with a small, fizzy, off-white head..Okay duration. Aroma is malty sweet, some viniousness. High carbonation, thin and fat and oily palate (not in the good way). Flavour is sharp alcoholic, some sugar and lots of horrible alcohol flavour. F*cking yuk!
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 23, 2011
