Dark brown color, with a creamy beige head, leaving some laces, sweet toasty, mild roasted malt nose, with some chocolatey praline accents, with some dark dried raisins, plums and dates, and candi sugar in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, toasty, roasty, chocolatey character, with a hint of molasses and candi sugar, some black coffee bean notes, sweet fruity accents of raisins, plums and dates, within a warmth mouthfel, leading towards a malty, roasty bitterness finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a huge foamy head with a light brown head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some dry fruits notes. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with noticeable trace of candi sugar and some dry fruits notes such as figs and plums. Body is slightly thin for the style with great carbonation and some light alcoholic phenols. Not the best Christmas Belgian style ale I have tasted but pretty good nonetheless.

2008-03-08. Crisp brown body with a nice beige head. (4+) Aroma of sweet malt below toasty dusty malt, mocha notes leaning towards coffee grounds at times, burnt sugars. Sweet flavour has a number of familiar flavours that have trouble picking out as individuals. Malt, sugars, something close to but not exactly chocolate covered coffee beans. Light toasty malt. (7+) Average to medium palate. (3+) Pretty good, though a bit of a puzzler.
Bottle from Delhaize, last minute sampling session at my hostel, Brussels
