Bottle at Le Poechenellekelder in Brussels. The beer pours a dark mahogany color with a medium tan head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel and spices. Rich body with a spicy fruity character and notes of figs, chocolate and sweet spices throughout. The finish is ripe fruits and sweet malts. Pretty good from start to finish.

33cl bottle. Pours a dark amber with mahogany. The nose has caramel and fresh green fruit, maybe grapes. The taste has coffee, bitter chocolate and a zingy grape finish. The palate is rich in structure and texture and a clean finish. Overall, a nice rich end of evening beer.

Bouteille 330ml.

33cl bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium tanned head. Nose : barley wine with dried fruit notes. Clove. Cappuccino. Sip : Oily body with a little carbonation. The way I see it is if I burned a toast and put plum marmalade on it. Follow it with a sweet Irish coffee. Voila ! Overall it’s an honest spicy Christmas beer. Kinda enjoyed it.

Pretty good beer. Had it served in a thistle glass with large, foamy, frothy, light tan head that lasted and lots of lace. Color was a clear, dark cherry wood with deep red tones. Aroma was roasty, toffee, caramel malt. Flavor was similar to nose. Great phenols. Body was a tad thin and had high carbonation. Finish was similar to taste, long, and boozy.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Rancid straw malt aroma. Dark brown colour, fast disappearing head. Strong sweet treacle malt flavour. Sweet aftertaste. Not my type of beer but drinkable.
