Bottled. Brown/Ruby colour with a cotton-like head. Leather-like malt aroma. Light spicy flavour with a subtle licorice feel, then ending with a medium bitter marshmallow-like palate. A brew with a retiring character.

Embrouille (2829) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 1, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2009 Bottled 33cl. 8.8 ABV. It pours a beautiful red beer with a nice light beige head. The nose is of raisin, caramel, cherry, berries and oak with some stuffy sitting room-like elements. Hints of dark chocolate and sorbet. Brown sugar, marshmallows, licorice and cherries in the taste. Decent lacing. Salty and slightly cloying. Spicier than the rest of the Gordon beers. Some rum-like elements. Quite a lot of cherries before a incredible salty finish with hints of fennel. An interesting beer with a nice label. Rerate: Apparent fennel, caramel, cherries, cinnamon and oak in both aroma and taste. Rather woody indeed.

Brown coloured beer with small off-white head. Buttery malty and bit hoppy aroma. Full bit creamy sweet sparkling palate. Finish is sweet and herby ending dry.
