Had this at plan b. cph. dk. Dark red color, sweet caramel aroma and taste, full thick body, light dry bitter finish.

skortila (4665) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JUL 25, 2004
Aroma is roasted malty, soapy and bready. Cloudy, brown coloured with a lasting off-white/brown head. Good appearance. Taste is of roasted malts, quite sweet, some toffee, bread and a little fruit. Quite sticky beer. Alcohol is reasonable hidden. Better brew than expected.

hopdog (9327) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 30, 2004
Poured with a huge (> 5 fingers), brown/tan frothy head. Long lasting with lacing. Malty smelling and tasting (roasted malts, molasses and a little fruity).

A red beer with a beutiful beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of cowberries. The flavor is lovely sweet with notes of malt and roasted bread.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2010 (Bottled, 0.75l) Very dark, clear deep reddish amber with a small, lacy and lasting head. Sweetish and caramely nose with lots of dried fruit. Flavor is dried-fruity, lightly alcoholic, caramely, slightly vegetably and cardboardy. Medium to full body, warming palate with low CO2. Somewhat dull and straightforward in the "Leffe style", but certainly one of the few gems of this brewery. 6246

hopscotch (9819) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2004
Clear, deep mahogany ale with interesting, ink-blot lacework. The nose is of dark raisins, overripe apple, tawny port, grapefruit rind and alcohol. The flavor is of maple syrup, chocolate- covered cherries, caramel, red wine and alcohol. Odd hop profile. Just a touch on the strange side. I like strange. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and a lengthy, bitter finish. Thanks to jbrus for the bottle!

pilsnerrogge (2566) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JAN 23, 2004
I like the way it looks: reddish brown with a rich, thick head. I like the way it smells: raspberries. But I don't like the way i tastes: very sweet and too much alcohol.

Pours a robust dark brown with a thick, well-lacing off-white head. Light caramel malt, potpourri and a hint of sour cherries fill the aroma. Good moderate sweetness throughout, well balanced with some English hoppy bitterness. Warming finish, but still hides the alcohol fairly well. Thanks to TChrome for this one!

Deep dark bronze hue with a fantastic light brown creamy head. Orange and yeasty aroma. Fantastic spice, nut, toffee and orangey flavours white a long slighly sweet finish. By far the best chrimbo ale I've had this year.

Nice appearance. Tan head with lacing on a dark borwn body. Nice malty aroma but malty flavor is overly sweet and taste alot like cough syrup. Little hopp presense felt as per style. I have had better.
