quite a boring, VERY ordinary lager type brew...for some odd reason, i expected more than this.

Gösser is Austria’s biggest beer brand, and one of the very few Austrian beers that you will find in America. A Pilsener-style lager with a bright yellow color. This is a finely crafted beer with a gentle, bitter bite. A fragrant, flowery hops signal will touch your nose when you pull a glass to your lips. The beer is light in carbonates and pours with a thick, foamy head that lingers in your glass.

Mine’s called ’Gösser Beer’ as pictured but in a bottle. Nose is slightly skunky and herbal. Some light sweet maltiness and then a fairly substantial but flat bitter. Medium effervescence.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow, with small particles. Aroma is moderately malty (light bread, grain, molasses, caramel), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a light note of ginger. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, slightly salty. Finish is moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.

Fresh batch. Lightly carbonated. Easy to drink with little taste, but a noticeable body. Finish reminiscent of apple cider.

The ingredients of the bottle I had included RICE. Need I say more?

There’s nothing special in this beer, very ordinary one. There are much more better beers in Austria.

I don’t know if I had a bad batch, but mine tasted a bit like cardboard, now that really can’t be the taste they want
