bottle from Meinl am Graben, Wien. Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Sweet and malty, lots of caramel. Very close to a Bohemian dark lager, i.e. very nice indeed.

Very smoky aroma, heavy roasted scent. Lovely taste, dark brown color, low alcohol for this type.

Draught at Gosser Bierklinik, Vienna, Austria. Poured a nearly opague black with a red tint. Had a two-finger light brown foamy head that retained well and laced OK. Low to no carbonation. Aroma dominated by roasted grain. Taste heavily of roasted grain with a slightly bitter after-taste. Light to medium body. Long roasted grain finish. Quite nice.

Appearance: Clear deep dark and subtle red color with a fine tan head that leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Dark malt and fruity.
Palate: Medium body. A bit sweet, and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Dark malt. Coffee and fruity.
Overall impression: A really pleasant and tasty dunkel.
Personal stats: Bottle from a local grocery store in Vienna. Gift from a workmate.

Bottle. Deep amber colour with a beige head. Caramel and light raisin aroma. Sweet malt, coffee, caramel and some hoppy flavour :-)

Clear dark brown body, with an average, creamy, tan head mostly lasting with some lacing.
Moderate malty aroma (caramel, dark bread, roasted) with light notes of dired fruits.
Flavour is malty sweet but comes to a bitter long finsh.
Light-to-medium body with an oily texture; soft carbonation; some light metallic feeling in the finish.
Overall nice beer.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2013 0,33l bottle. Dark brown color, almost black. Creamy head. Aroma is caramel and toasted malt. Taste is pretty much the same and it is a little bit sweet. Very good and drinkable beer.
