3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Scubaguy (230) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 5, 2011
It pours a dark brown color with a lingering 1 finger off white head. It has some lacing and a large amount of carb present.
On the nose I am getting some sweet malt and a little grassy notes.
It has a creamy mouthful and on the flavor side of things I get some sweet malt, carmel, toasted bread, grains. The sweetness up front seems to balance out with grassy hops.
It finishes with a slight bitterness. It is similar to a pale euro pale lager but without the skunk and not something you have to force down. I have to say this is something I could reach for again.

Bottle as Gösser Dark. Dark reddish brown with an almost creamy tan head. Aroma: milk choclate, roasted, nuts (perhaps roasted hazel nuts), grassy hops and butter. Taste: roasted malts, nuts, some chocolate (but less than in the aroma), some kind of fruit, grassy hops, maybe svagdricka. The taste is a bit thin or lacking something. Medium-bodied with soft bubbles. OK, I guess.
