COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The bottom fermented, dark Gösser Stiftsbräu is brewed according to old, inherited traditions. With a smoky, roasted nose and a thick and creamy taste on the palate, Stiftsbräu is a sophisticated delight for lovers of a slightly sweet, dark beer. The overall impression that Stiftsbräu creates is one of great harmony and well roundedness. 11.8°

Appearance: Neat light brown with deep ruby hue, medium tanned top.
Nose: Fruity malted front with gentle barley roast. Hint of cocoa with chocolate raisin dipped.
Flavor/Palate : Light but not empty. Smooth gentle guide with solid quality. Light roast , bitter coco feel at back. All flavours together harmoniously created a solid dunkel.

Solidly dark brown color with a fizzy tan head, this has a sweet malt aroma. It’s got a creamy mouthfeel, and the taste is of roasted caramel malts and a dash of dark fruits. Bit of a bitter aftertaste, but not offensive.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 4, 2008 Bottle, Rogoznica, HR. Nose of brine, figgy dried fruit, almost rauch-like smoked waxiness and cocoa. That’s an 8. Beige on mahogany, with ruby flashes. Laces beautifully. This is a smooth, chocolatey dunkel with bags of smoked malt character approaching rauchbier status, and at least as good as the Lasko Temno.
