BigBen2120 (564), Derry, New Hampshire, USA Jun 24, 2008 330ml brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours a hazy dark orange with a good inch or so of off-white head that persists. Smells citrussy and pithy, with caramel and spice somewhere in there. Tastes like an equal mix of spice, caramel, and citrus/orange. Fairly dry on the finish. Light to medium in body with much carbonation. Unique, complex, and pretty drinkable for what it is. Nicely done!
bluevegie (1853), Perth, Australia Jan 3, 2009 Good lasting, light tan head on a clear dark honey coloured body. Al ittle sweet on the aroma with notes of dried fruts and caramel, similar characters in the taste with a touch more spice. Good drinking. leaparsons (4180), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Dec 29, 2008 Cask, The Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Amber brown with a small head. Aroma of grapefruit, cherry, toasted malt. toasted caramel malts upfront with a good fruity hop finish. wheresthepath (324), Buckinghamshire, England Dec 19, 2008 [Gravity cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] From the first taste there is no doubt that this is Belgian - there is a similar sweet gammon flavour to that of Leffe Blonde. This beer also has an added green leaf flavour rather reminiscent of boiled cabbage, which really doesnt work with the sweetness. Not great. Geiserich (1573), Vienna, Austria Dec 16, 2008 Bottled: Aroma is fruity with some citrus notes, sugar, alcohol and malt. Very huge, foamy brownish head. Brown color. Flavor is fruity with notes of cherries and citrus. Quite alcoholic, fresh and sparkling. Well hopped, bitter hops and some citrus notes. Finish with almond notes. Quite alcoholic and a bit unbalanced.
