3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 JesseM (1099) - Ottawa, Ontario, - MAR 13, 2010330mL bottle from the Lcikcbo. Pours a hazy muddy reddish orange with a an absolutely massive white head. I guess Het Anker finally took my advice and left some yeast in their beers. Aroma is of awesome Belgian candi sugar and malts, minor dry yeast character which is very pleasant, some berry esters. Smells fantastic. Flavour hits right away with some sharp yeast notes, followed by a sweet malt element and minor booze. Finishes with some citrus and dry yeast, feels fairly strong but impressive. Lingering citrusy hop presence. Perfumy. Mouth-feel is rich but also mildly fizzy as the yeast imparts live carbonation. Great stuff, I wish they didn’t filter all their other beers so they could be as interesting as this one.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 AtronSeige (51) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - APR 17, 2013
Aroma: Belgian yeast, sweet stewed fruits
Clear copper in color, very fizzy! Massive head that keeps growing. Lots of lace.
Sweet, slight alcohol warming. Finishes quite dry. Some hop bitterness.
Slick mouthfeel and less fizzy on the tongue than in the bottle. Medium bodied
A drinkable beer that I am sure will go down a lot better if there was some food to enjoy with it.

Bottle served in a tulip. Cloudy dark amber in color with more head than liquid on an easy pour. Excellent retention and significant lace. As good as it gets. Nose of fleshy dark fruit and yeast pushed on by the carbonation. Minimally sweet yeast forward flavor. Light-medium body, fizzy carbonation, thin-sticky texture and a dry, slightly hopped finish. Really nice.
