COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Unfiltered.
Also available from Wetherspoons in casks.
"This full-tasting, but deceptively drinkable, amber ale has a good fruitiness and a nice hop edge which tempers the caramellised malt. It is clean and precise, within an almost perfect balance of Challenger and Goldings hops.
The recipe has its origin in the 14th century. The present version is a little more heavy and contains more hops. The balance between the different malts, the fine hops and typical tastes of spices creates a perfect harmony between the powerful taste of brown beers and the freshness of the blond beers. This fresh aromatic and pithy light-brown drink can be served cool.

Bottle, 330ml. A golden beer with a huge creamy head that stayed on long after I served it. Aroma is of bananas, dry fruits and alcohol. Taste is bitter, especially at the end and dense. This beer is heavy in carbonation with some astringency. As the label says, "a great amber ale".

75 cl, flaske, 8,0 % ABV, købt i SuperBest i Rotunden i Hellerup, 29. juni 2014.

Pours a hazy fire-red with active carbonation and a thick, rocky khaki head that hangs out and leaves some soapy, clingy lace. Nose involves soft sweet grain, a floral hoppiness, almost some strawberry or sweet cherry. Fairly sweet, fairly tart, with a decent bitterness. Fluffy body, very active carb, somewhat oily, with a lingering grainy hoppy and warming finish. Pretty decent brew with some life to it, though it is probably past its prime. Compares to Rare Vos from Ommegang.
