3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a murky, deep orange/brown body with a dense, foamy off-white head. Nose is caramel, yeast and candy sugar. Taste is dry and somehow short at first, then fading into a brown sugar landscape furnished with hints of barnyard yeast, spruce and lightly toasted bread and booze. Bitter finish, but without too much actual hop influence on the taste itself. Warming alcohol, just below the pain threshold for what I’d call boozy. Nice enough, although not one of my favorites among Belgian Strong Ales.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle at home. Into a tulip glass. ABV 8%
Light amber colour on the body with a big off-white head, thin and kind of froathy. Very good retention though with spots of lacing here and there.
Very nice aroma, very fruity, light yeast, banana and ripe pears, some caramel.
Taste begins sweet with red fruits, black and red grapes, yeast, ripe pears. A touch of bitterness on the finish. Alcohol well hidden.
Medium thin body, good carbonation with a bite on the tongue.
Overall quite good, not on th high levels as other Anker beers but still very enoyable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours amber with a really nice big lasting head. Nose is toffee, nectarine, Belgian yeast & lightly toasted malts. Taste is light sweetened grapefruit, spices, light honey. Fairly thin mouthfeel doesn't detract from a fairly good beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rated on 6-27-2009 (Corked and caged bottle) This beer forms a large very fizzy ivory head that mostly diminished, semi-transparent amber body, lots of floaties, fair amount of lacing, lively, and fast rising carbonation. The Aroma is caramel malts, dark fruits, hops, and alcohol. The Taste is caramel malt, hops, dark fruits, spicy, and alcohol. The Palate is tingly and semi-thin. This beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer has a warming sensation from the 8%ABV, would be a nice winter beer, worth trying, and a beer I would drink again.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is love hearts, spice, peppermint, yeast. Taste is very, very sweet; candy sugar, toffee, caramel, candied apples leads to a spicy, orange and clove, peppery finish, with a slightly dry stale note. Mouthfeel is to thin. It’s an OK beer, but lacks depth and is slightly sickly sweet for me.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home. Pours a dark amber with massive head, that dies slow and leaves a nice bubble bath lace. Alcohol is heavy in the aroma, strong toffee with orange and winter spice coming forward. Again, alcohol is very apparent in taste, very sweet orange and clove, as it warms and rests it become a completely different beer, with toffee coming out in front and alcohol diminishing. This is a very nice beer. The palate is a little thinner that the flavour suggests, could really do with being a little oilier.
