750 ml bottle from Wine Specialist. Nice mahogany color with a rapidly diminishing beige/tan head. Rich malty aroma with a little yeast. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is sweet malt with some medium dark fruit. Finish is more sweet than dry, but there is a little bitter. I think it is really delicious.

Bottled. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malt, strong sweet belgian yeast, and a hint of bubble gum. Flavor is sweet, smooth malt, slightly buttery, and really reminds me of Westmalle Dubbel. Body had the perfect balance for a belgian.

750 ml botte. A cloudy dark brown beer with a medium sized and quite persistent beige head, leaving laces on the glass. The aroma is malty, with fruity (plum) and spicy notes and a touch of alcohol. The flavour is powerful, intense, malty, with notes of plums, chocolate and light alcohol. Quite sweet with hops not in evidence. However not sticky or filling. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, long finish with light bitterness. Very good.

Sampled from bomber: pours a hearty mahogany colour with a full tan head. Aroma is semi-sweet, nutty, with accents of oak, tropical fruit and wheat. Taste is comfortable, well carbonated, and smooth on the palate.

Delicioius. I love the Carolus beers. Pours a typical amber color with a foamy head. Aromas are malty and caramel. Tongue is full of dried fruit and sweetness. Nice job.

This is an average Belgium Beer in my opinion. It represents the style well and is fairly well balanced for a beer of 8.5%. A little too sweet for my taste and not as complex as other Belgium Beers.

Dark amber with thin white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar and fruit. Taste is sweet and fruity with brown sugar mixed in. Solid Belgian beer.
