Nice mahogany color with a rapidly diminishing beige/tan head. Rich malty aroma with a little yeast. Near medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is sweet malt with some medium dark fruit. Finish is more sweet than dry, but there is a little bitter. I think it is really delicious. eboats (901), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Bottled. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malt, strong sweet belgian yeast, and a hint of bubble gum. Flavor is sweet, smooth malt, slightly buttery, and really reminds me of Westmalle Dubbel. Body had the perfect balance for a belgian. Slayer85 (596), Firenze, Italy

A cloudy dark brown beer with a medium sized and quite persistent beige head, leaving laces on the glass. The aroma is malty, with fruity (plum) and spicy notes and a touch of alcohol. The flavour is powerful, intense, malty, with notes of plums, chocolate and light alcohol. Quite sweet with hops not in evidence. However not sticky or filling. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, long finish with light bitterness. Very good. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

It represents the style well and is fairly well balanced for a beer of 8.5%. A little too sweet for my taste and not as complex as other Belgium Beers. esjaygee (1600), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
