33cl BBE 19/05/2019 a fresh one. Aroma of faro sugars and barley wine. Thick malty nose. Pours nearly black with slightly beige head and beautiful lacing. Medium sweet and malty. Not ashy, not burnt but pleasantly roasted. Thick and heavy bodied beer. Creamy, smooth but with a tad bit sugary and slick finish. Perfect medium carbonation for a BSA. A very solid beer that can handle massive aging.

330 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a dark ruby tinted brown color with a thick tan colored head and a lot of soapy lace. The aroma is full of sweet chocolate, caramel, and dark fruits. This is pretty good. Lots of sweet dark fruit. I’m a fan of that mild imbalance. The flavor is just as malty as you’d expect. A touch woody with a lovely dark fruit and caramel complexity. It’s surprisingly good. The malts are sweet and caramelized. The fruit carries it out to the finish. The mouth feel is thicker and nice with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly sweet, woody, and fruity malt. It’s really a surprise, I’m not going to lie.

33cl bottle. Pours dark brown like a coke with medium head. Head fades quickly but left a bit Belgian lace. Aroma is not that intense then i expected but it was quite nice. Especially dry fruits, raisin and toffee. I loved the texture and palate, It was smooth as silk. No alcohol feeling at all. Quite sweet taste and long finish. Loved that beer. Well example for its kind

11.2 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown with a thine tan head. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel, molasses, dark fruit and toffee. Dark fruit, molasses and malt aroma. Has a full body with a warming finish. The finish reminds me of sake. Quite excellent.

1976 33cL bottle shared by Dennis on 6/10/16.
Still carbonated and though the head retention’s not immense, the fact it still pours a dark beige head at all is very impressive. Golden-mahogany body shows good clarity.
Cloves and brown sugar slowly emerge from their dusty, musty slumber. Light vanilla and even a touch of honey. Pretty incredible how well this has resisted the less desirable oxidative notes. No cardboard or soy.
Light bubble gum, clove, brown sugar and some old toffee and cellar all give a tired but still pretty impeccable flavor. Soft, malty texture and moderately engaging carbonation. Not my favorite brewery (not a big fan of the yeast and sweetness) but you have to respect how well the stuff ages.

Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue, some light lacing. This looks like a classic Belgian Strong Ale. Nose has some dried fruit - date, currant, maybe. Malt, sweet dried fruit, caramel. A really pleasant body, smooth, full, but not tipping its hand on the high ABV. Really nice, easy-drinking Belgian strong.

On tap. Pours a hazy deep red-brown with a thin, beige head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, dark fruit, port wine and light cinnamon. Sweet flavour of dark fruit, caramel malt, brown sugar, port wine and cinnamon with a dry finish. Full body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Very nice.
