To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw", the brewery launched a blond-version : Cuvée van de Keizer Rood. This beer is similar to the previous Gouden Carolus Easter Beer. Blond rich beer that is brewed each year during the easter period. It contains several types of malt and during brewing 3 herbs are added. It's golden blond colour, it's high alcohol concentration of 10 %, it's full and balanced taste make this beer into a source of vitality and strength which will appeal to the demanding beer taster. For ideal tasting pour out gently in one pull to a temperature round 7-8° C. Served with pride it is drunken with respect. This pleasant golden blond beer is chosen for he who loves a richer, somewhat spicy and refreshing beer.

Disclaimer: This is a blond version of the Cuvée Van de Keizer, introduced in 2008. The label has a red diagonal line.

0.75 bottle. Dark, hazy, amber liquid and a big, white head. Typical sweet and sour aroma of honey, citruses, peach, wheat, spices, and floral scents. Sweet, malty taste with citruses and a lot of ginger, quite spicy. Medium body, creamy texture, and average carbonation. Finish features even more ginger and citruses, quite unexpected. Overall this is a high quality beer but it is dwarfed by its blue brother.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2014 Ik heb deze van tap op en ik moet zeggen dat dit misschien wel een van de lekkerste bieren is die ik ooit gedronken heb. Superzacht maar verradelijk zwaar.

Transparent golden, white foamy head. Interesting sweet nose, spirited, floral, spicy and sweet. Taste is big on sweet Belgian malts and yeast with honey, vanilla, orange peel and peach, ginger, spicy, a little (malt-)bitter and a nice alcoholic, even boozy burn (also reminiscent of a spirit, like a cognac or liquor 43). Complex. Lively carbonation, oily mouthfeel, big bodied. Very nice but I like the blue Cuvee better.

2013 Slight hazy light golden with big fluffy white head. Massive notes of creamy peach, light sweet malts, vanilla, some booze and later some cherry and spices. Medium bodied with slight prickly carbonation. Very very good.

Had this once a few years back when I was still working in the industry. Haven’t seen it since. A delicious Belgian brew, but not as tasty as it’s bigger cousin, the Emperor. Damn good for a Blonde though!!

Bottle from the brewery shop. Lightly hazy glowing amber pour with white head. Aroma is fruity, light alcohol, white fruits, peaches, orange peel, quite malty. Taste is sweet, lots of orange, light lemon, peach and pear, very fruity but enjoyable fruity flavors. Palate is full bodied with good carbonation. Nice pale BSA.

75cl bottle shared with friends. Pale dark orange with a medium white soapy head. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Sweet with some bitter tones. Peach, herbs, grass, citrus, hops and some warming alcohol. A tasteful Belgian brew.
