Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy bubbly gold with an average size fizzy white head. Aroma of yeast, banana, biscuity malt and some floral notes. Flavour: Whoa, the alcohol sure takes you by surprise -- wow! It’s sweet, a bit syrupy along with biscuity malt. Medium bodied, quite carbonated. Way too boozy, making this just O.K.

Draft at Birreria Paradiso. Creamy orange yeasty appearance. Thick, creamy, yeasty taste, with a touch of bitterness. Amber candi-sugar notes as well. More bitterness that your typical big Belgian ale. Very well done.

Pours gold with a large white head. Aroma is sweet and you get hit with the belgian yeast right up front. It also has some honey, clove, and just a bit of foot. Flavor is loaded with green apple, heavy yeast, lemons, lime rind, biscuity malts and just a bit of floral spiciness. Finishes with a nice little boozy finish, but doesn’t distract.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Garthicus, Blankboy, and GregClow, courtesy of Harry. Medium yellow, small white head. Strong yeast and malt aroma. Strong taste - malty, sweet, alcohol. Too much, too strong, too syrupy - did not really work for me at all.

Bottle (750ml - corked & caged). Shared with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow and tupalev. Clear gold with a large-ish fizzy/creamy white head. Sweet aroma of honey, heather, alcohol and light spice. Alcohol pretty much dominates the flavour, not too sweet though, with an underlay of apple cider and an overlay of grass and mint. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel, boozy finish, light carbonation. Too strong, really - much prefer the "Blue"

2008 bottle. Pours orange-yellow with decent head, light lacing. Aroma is yeasty with hints of citrus, honey, and spice. Alcohol hits like a brick, flavor is honey sweet with cardamom, sourdough bread and banana. Tingly mouthfeel, syrupy film left behind after drinking. Solid but nothing great, the blue is much better.

Saveur: Goût d’épices et de céréales avec une pointe fruitée. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture crémeuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût fruité. (Rating #2229)

With thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: Light orange, large white head, lots of visible carbonation. Aroma: Sweet, musky, perfume, citrus skin, metallic sweetness. Flavour: Strongly alcoholic, bitter, lemon, disgusting under ripe orange, the alcohol presence was just too much.
