Bottle. Cloudy yellow orange pour with a thick white head. Orange, lemon tea, bread, banana. Good carbonation that goes well with the candy lemon body thay seem to hide the alcohol. Nice sweet finish that is not overwhelming.

Blonde version of the classic Cuvée van de Keizer since 2008, after which the latter was renamed Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw. Milky, thinnish head, colour a warm golden blonde, clear but misty after adding the deposit. Powerful and elegant, sweetly perfumed aroma of vanilla, honey, apple cider, gin, mint and sometimes some DMS (cooked cabbage) as well, though the sample I tasted a few days ago, did not have this shortcoming anymore. Soft fruity, sweet and malty taste with strong, mineral-like carbonation, caramelly and honeyish middle, finish long with complex spicy hoppiness and agreeable warming alcohol. Delicious tripel, undoubtedly ageing equally well as its dark counterpart.

2013 corked and caged 750ml bottle. A good pop when I pulled the cork out. Despite a careful pour, I still get a 3 finger head of billowy foam. The colour is orange yellow and cloudy. It smells spicy and fruity and yeasty. Coriander, very light clove, apple and probably peach. The taste has the spice with the clove being more aggressive, coriander, and the fruit I mentioned in the smell. Some sweet flavour but also a mild hop bitterness in there as well. It finishes very dry. Alcohol is not intrusive. Medium bodied and not too shabby a drinker, this is nice.

Tanned this in the park with cam in the sunshine, its mad expensive but we had to have it. pours hazy golden with a rocky head. smells quality. some yeast, honey, pears, white grapes and spices. taste is similar. its quite peppery, and with the spice and booze its all nice and warming. also has a vanilla ginger side to compliment well. very little hops to the flavour. medium body but lightened by the lively fizz. it went down real easy. yea this was nice. not my fav but delicious

Bottled 0.75 liter, 2012 vintage sampled in 2014, gift from a collegue. Slightly hazy golden colored, lasting white head. Pretty fruity nose, citrus, lots of spices, some malts and hops. Somewhat dry and bitter flavor, quite fruity, later on some sugary sweetness shines through, alcohol certainly apparant but not disturbingly. High (perhaps a bit too high) on carbonation. Lasting dry finish. Feels like a fruity and slighltly more alcoholic version a Westmalle Tripel. Pretty good.

0.75 bottle. Dark, hazy, amber liquid and a big, white head. Typical sweet and sour aroma of honey, citruses, peach, wheat, spices, and floral scents. Sweet, malty taste with citruses and a lot of ginger, quite spicy. Medium body, creamy texture, and average carbonation. Finish features even more ginger and citruses, quite unexpected. Overall this is a high quality beer but it is dwarfed by its blue brother.
