| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2008 I’m not 100% sure whether this was the pre 07 version or not, the place where I buy a lot of more beer seems to sell a lot of vintage beer by mistake. And I enjoyed it that much the bottle was nailed and I was away with a mixer before I could remember to check that sort of thing. Really nice, absolutely loved it. I was recommended the van de keizer and that was minging, maybe I’m not ready for it. This though, really flew my kite. It has slights similarities with the underlying liqourice and medicine flavours but a lot more pleasant flavours that appeal to my palate. Don’t ask me too name them because I was sipping it and ejoying trying to pick them out, then I finished it. Great stuff. JPDIPSO (4898), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 19, 2008 Lightly hazed golden color with a very tall off-white head. Sweet aromas, with honey, raisins, pineapple and plums. Some dough, spice and alcohol also present. This smell like a strong light belgian ale, nothing too special here. Quite sweet in flavor as well. Over-ripe melon and alcohol seem to be quite upfront. For some reason I fell like I’m drinking the juice from a fruit salad that sat in the refrigerator a few days to long. Some citrus and dried flowers in the finish and linger. Not more than a few ounces in and my guts are already starting to burn. I am catching quite a bit of licorice as well, which is not one of my favorites. Too rough in the hot and sweet area for me. ante (2928), Stockholm, Sweden
