I tasted a lot of easter like flavors on the first sip and then it mainly tasted like a typical belgian. brewblackhole (1370), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Massive head, massive bubbling, fruity yeasty aroma, lots of pear ,apple, malts, light bodied, fruits show up big in taste, just a little tartness, and a bog astringent dry finish, left my tongue feeling like sandpapaer, can’t believe anybody else did not detect this. Tastey for sure ,but I’m not sure I like the finish french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Golden / amber poor with a nice frothy off-white head. Aromas of citrus fruits, pepper, coriander, oranges, caramel and floral hops. Perfectly balanced mouthfeel with a medium/full body. Definite alcohol presence. Perfect effervesence. Very fruity flavors, caramel and again a nice smooth alcohol presence. Very enjoyable! Ughsmash (3999), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2008 750mL bottle. Poured clear (initially) brighter golden with a short-lived fizzy white head. The aroma picked up spicy peppery yeast with sweeter pale malts.. warmth brought out more lighter fruits.. warm and somewhat intriguing. The flavor was very yeasty with a hefty black pepper component.. pale and light fruity malts at the core and warm, boozy sweetness toward the back.. white pepper and fruit on the warm, long finish. Medium-plus bodied with high carbonation.. spicy and dry, especially on the back end.. strong, but well-balanced. This wasn’t exciting or complex, but it was a solid offering. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Pours a hazy, orangey, golden color with a white, average, fizzy, fluffy head; it settles to a creamy, fairly small layer which sticks around for quite a while and leaves scattered lace. Nose is candy sweet with lots of light candi sugar and lighter notes of honey, ginger, dusty yeast, spicy whisps of alcohol, and maybe some faint herbal hops far in the distance. Flavor is still candy sweet with lots of light candi sugar and lighter notes of overripe apples, honey, doughy yeast, and some faint pie crust notes. Palate is soft to lively, moderately full, and watery in texture but a little syrupy on the tongue with some mild warmth. Finishes long and sweet with some lingering sugar notes, overripe apples, and light spicy alcohol notes. Not one of my favorites in the style with such a candy-like sweetness and lacking the malt depth, hop balance, or complexity to match it. Would have been better with less candi sugar (or honey?) or some more other attributes added to give some balance. ekstedt (2419), Göteborg, Sweden
