This pleasant golden blond beer is chosen for he who loves a richer, somewhat spicy and refreshing beer.

Dark lemony gold color, glassy yet smeared body. Huge topping of white puffy foam lasts for good length before settling to an always present thick skim. Lots of sheeting lace trickled with tattered strings hanging on. Aroma is soft and round with a dull lemon candy and honeydew ascent, good amounts of caramel malt and a good touching waft of ethanolic, yeasty heat. Flavors are absolutely spectacular. Wow and yum combine to make scrumptiousdillyumscious! Great candied lemon, honey, and caramel are thickly laid upon the palate quickly with a heavy notion of stick and creamyness. Nice light addititons to yeasty spice thats airy spiced with light white pepper, flowers, and bright earth tones. Oh, its yummy. The caramel is damn right awesome as it covers all the small notions of citrusy notes. Very impressionable palate soaking. Creamy, lush, full, and down right smooth with just a heavy malt that is toned just right without any cloying. It is liquid candy. Or so it seems. Man its good. I really enjoyed this beer. Its seemingly more like a Tripel than a Dark, but anyway you look at it, its phenomenally enjoyable and well worth seeking and trying. Gouden Carolus has themselves another winner here with this one.

Garrafa. Perfumada. Álcool presente. Retrogosto marcante, delicioso. Carbonatação média/alta. Médio amargor, lembrando uma tripel. Final longo, doce e seco. Ímpar!

Maravilhosa. Aromas frutados de maçã, pêra e limão. Muito perfumada. Paladar aveludado de damascos. Álcool evidente, mas muito bem inserido. Final longo, doce e muito bom.

Bottle at Lucky Baldwin’s, Pasadena, CA. Fantastic beer for how light it is. A wonderously full golden flavor with mild fruit, wheat, and even a slight lemony opening. It’s hysterical, but for a split second it begins like a hefeweissen: this doesn’t last, of course.

I found this dust laden with one other bottle in a nook. I feel it’s one of the best Carolus offerings. Lovely carbonation on a full head over a hazed light brown pour. Aroma of yeast, dark fruit, a touch of citrus, and a hint of spice. It’s very mouthfilling with a heavy feeling of sweetness with not completely hidden alcohol. It’s the estery sweetness wrapped in a blanket of malt and yeast that makes the foundation for this fine ale. The flavor is very good with brown sugar, apricots, yeast and light esters with an aftertaste of spices, which I can’t define, and a hint of lemon. Hops add to the taste, but mildly so. Think I’ll see if the other bottle is still there.

Amber colour with a huge creamy head. Aroma of flowers, hops and wine. Sweet flavor with a spicy note and hints of flower. Alcohol warming finish. Drink this beer slowly :)
