Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

33 cl bottle at home. Pours a clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma of juicy fruit, grain and peppery hop. Taste is sweet to start, followed by a firm but light bitterness. Rich and sticky palate, there is also further sweet fruitiness and peppery, resin flavours from the hopping. Short dry finish. Not bad.

Poured from 330ml bottle. Sparkling, hazy, golden color with a huge, persistent, off-white head and very good lacing. Aroma of light fruit, lime, celery, puffed cereal, candy and biscuits. Taste of lemon/lime, ginger, apples, white grapes, other light fruit, grain, cereal and yeast. Medium body and medium/high carbonization with a spritzy mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a stable, thick, lasting white head. Beautfiful lacing. Nice fruity aroma with clear malty notes. Nice citrus smell, apples, some hoppy notes... Malty touches from the caramel and some honey. Some spices up the nose as well. Loveable. Taste is bitterish with a beautifully spiced up yeasty and fruity touch. The fruits kick in beautifully, taking over from the bitterness to linger long in the incredibly soft and tasteful aftertaste. Spices, fruits, sweetness and softness sizzling all over the place. This is some kind of a treasure... Wow. Beautiful balance between bitters, sweets and softness. Nicely full bodied, nice silky mouthfeel. Marvellous. Wonderful, world class brew.

Pours hazy with a lot of head, that does not diminish quite quickly. Aroma is not quite pungent. It firstly resembles a good hopped lager beer aroma. Some sweet notes can be found. Taste is strongly sweet at first, but the taste quickly switches to mildly sour due to the present hops, and finishes dry, just like you would expect from a hopped beer. Pretty carbonated. Quite well balanced.

J’ai trouvé ça un peu trop direct et simple sans bonnes ni mauvaises surprises ... A vérifier un autre jour ...
