Commercial Description:
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

Hazy golden color with a massive head. Spices, yeast, light banana, some sweet citrus, some hops but not like I was expecting, and light malty grains. mouth feels a bit thin. Flavor is of earthy hops, crisp spices, yeast, fruit, and an overly bitter finish for the hops present in the aroma/flavor. No noticeable alcohol. Rather tasty and refreshing. Went amazingly well with sushi.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark yellow with an average, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt -grain, hay, straw, meal-, average hops -flowers, herbs, grass-, heavy yeast -horse blanket, barnyard, earth, musty- with notes of pear, dust, and paper. Medium bodied, slick texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness.

12 oz draft at the Cheeky Monk in Denver, Colorado. Pour is a very cloudy yellow white with a nicely formed off white head that fell with pretty lacing. Aroma of pine hops, floral sweetness, slightly resinous grass hops and some Belgian yeastiness. Taste is the nose for the most part, with the addition of honey sweetness which accents the hop profile nicely, and is not cloying at all. The body was medium, and very carbonated. Alcohol nicely masked. Overall, a tasty cross between a Belgian Ale and an IPA.

330 ml bottle into tulip. Hazy pale yellow body with a massive meringue head that slowly dissipates. Nose of spice, floral and grassy hops, some yeast. Tastes of sweet malt, pepper, spice, floral notes. Bitterness is present but not overdone and nicely integrated. Medium body and lively carbonation. really flavorful and very well done.

Shared with Pyrozoid. Cloudy golden poor with a frothy off-white head with good lacing. Aromas of prine, very hoppy, orange zest, grassy notes, coriander, caramel and apples.Very balanced mouthfeel, perfect carbonation, dry start with long faintly sweet aftertaste. Flavors are same as aromas.
