Bottle. Crystalized sugar, malt and alcohol aroma. Cloudy brownish yellow with giant off-white head. Sweet rock candy, malt, and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Not bad but need to get a hold of a fresher bottle.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
hazy blond colour extremely huge, long lasting white head; aroma of grassy and floral hops, fruityness with some honey; perfectly ballanced taste of sweetness of a typical belgian ale (candy sugar and maltyness) and hoppy bitterness with some yeastyness - that’s why belgian strong ale is my second favourite category!

Very big head, silky, and yellow/greenish colour. Aroma is herbal and hoppy, very nice.
Taste is also herbal, nice hops taste, bitter but not much. Medium carbonation.
Really refreshing, and really good, it leaves a good taste in the mouth.
Alcohol also well hidden.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught. Hazy, deep golden colour with an amber tint. Dense, white head. Fruity aroma with yeasts, oranges, caramel malts, grass, herbal and citrus hops - hops are more dominating than usual in Belgian beers. Taste is bitter-fruity. Medium to full body, creamy texture and a lively carbonation. Finishes bitter and bone-dry with a good amount of fruitiness. Very enjoyable, quite unusual for a Belgian ale.

Gouden Carolus Hopsinjour on tap at the Thirsty Monk in Asheville.
Hazy yellow gold with a moderate sized but very, very durable head. Superior lacing.
Nice, citruc fruity, aroma with a good bit of lemon.
The taste largely follows although it has more flavor and more yeast than the nose suggests. Despite the name the hops do not dominate but are in good balance with the other flavor components.

Bottle 0.33l from Dranken Geers Gent. Pours hazy dark yellow with firm white head and above a average carbonation. Aroma is dry and slightly hoppy. Taste is dry with some hops and a well balanced bitterness. Easy drinkable considering it is 8.0 ABV. Good stuff.
