COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2015 Bottle, 33cL. @ l’Ancienne Belgique, Toulouse. Just out of the fridge. A pale yellow opaque beer with a big white head ; medium retention ; good lacing. Resin, flower, herbs, fruits (red berries, peach), vanilla, roast, biscuit, alcohol. Medium dry bitter refreshing, light to medium sweet, light warming background. Good body, average texture, light oily, good carbonation, bittersweet dry lasting finish. Overall, yes, definitely hoppy ! I enjoyed this one ; nice bitterness ; maybeeee just a bit too sweet ; nevertheless, good balanced !

Poured in a tulip glass from a chilled 25cl bottle. Nice wite foam. Aroma: bananas, nuts, Taste: not too hoppy to my opinion, but still a very nice bitter taste. Nice long aftertaste.

F: very huge white long lasting, make rings. C: hazy yellow to gold, opaque. A: sweet malt and complex hoppy gently aroma, grassy and floral. T: sweet like first, then nice hoppy on the palate, grassy, floral, peppery, dry hoppy finish, bitter lemon like curacao, green pepper, if you like hoppy notes this is the best Belgian strong ale.

I think this is the first Belgian style ipa I’ve had that is not from America. American produced Belgian ipas have always been an ipa first with Belgian yeast as the afterthought. This beer was clearly a Belgian beer first with some hops added to it. A really interesting beer. The hop choices really complimented the other flavors and felt great on the palate. Lighter in body but boozy and hoppy. Solid beer.

From elcervecero. In Duvel glass. Watching The hangover. Tasty and very drinkable, with a nice bitterness and carbonation that pleases the upper part of the mouth. Aroma could improve. Its a bit dull for a beer with a hoppy name
