COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

Courtesy of fishingnet. Pours cloudy blonde, white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Taste is again hoppy, thick mouthfeel, lightly bitter, fruity notes (citrus). Hard to belive this is an amber ale as indicated on the bottle? Too hoppy for my taste.

Bottle @ KBF in Geel. Cloudy yellow beer, big frothy white head. Aroma of hops and malts. Flavour is hoppy, malty and a bit fruity. Bitter finish. Medium bodied. A bit one-dimensional, but a nice one for the hop-heads. Certainly one of the better beers of GC.

Pours murky, wit like, bright yellow with a large marang like pure white head. Rings of lace. Lots of dusty yeast and a very perfumey, floral, and herbal hop character. Very nice. Just loaded with hop flavor. A little grassy. A little citrus. Really nice use of hops. Medium light body with high carbonation. Dry finish. Really good beer. Looks kind of under rated.

Aroma is yeasty, sweet, grassy hops. Taste is yeasty, bready, nice spiciness, some banana, and hops. Finishes creamy, sweet, and with a little bit of residual bitterness. Good, but a touch alcoholic and nothing amazingly special. Fantastic head though and kind of a gusher.

Bottle @ Tornado San Diego. Pours hazy yellowish golden with a white foamy head. The aroma is light to medium hoppy, fruity and spicy with some grassy and floral tones. Sweet malt is also present with hints of honey and caramel. A bit yeasty with spicy and doughy notes. The flavor is medium hoppy with bitter grass and spices present alongside some light grainy, fruity and yeasty notes. The mouth feel is well carbonated, dry and clean. Medium bodied.

Courtesy of fishingnet. Pours light gold with a bit of haze and a three inch off white head. The light aroma has fresh lemon citrus, some grapefruit and faint light colored malts. The taste has an up front combination of grapefruit hops, lemon tartness and candi sugar. It really gets more tart by midway with grapefruit and some acidity. Some floral hops show up from time to time too.

Bottle. Blond pour with lots and lots of white head. Aroma is lots of grain, earthiness, and lots of czech-like hops and some spicing also. Taste is the same, some bubblegum malt, but the spices and hops really overshadow the malt. Peppery finish.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a huge, white head covering a murky yellow body with small yeasties hanging out in the bottom of the glass. Aroma is spicey yeast, sugar and some pepper with a slight hint of sour and citrus trailing off at the end. Taste is sweet, lightly yeasty, orange, and decently hopped. Very lively carbonation.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours a clody gold with great thick head. Has a nice tangy, citris aroma. Flavor has a nice alcohol spice with a little brett, nice citris barnyard taste. Mouthfeel is light body with high carbonation, fizzy.....over all, very enjoyable.....!
