Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

yeast, lemon, some hops, nice balanced sour taste, full bodied with a bitter finish... a bit low on hops for it’s name...

33cl Pours pale yellow, like a simple eastern european lager. Either a strong single hop aroma, or a smooth balance of multiple hops. Pleasant and uniform. Fair malty base, and strong bitterness. Feels like a homebrew, and has some powderness to it. I do not know why - there is no sediment. Feels like water used is rather hard. In a blind tasting, I would consider this to be a fortified lager, with a strong malty base. It Smooth textured, medium carbonation, gentle and easy finish for the ABV. Good to try, as it is not a typical BSA in my opinion.

Lovely maltiness, toasted caramel, candy sugar, somewhat berries, light herbal, citrusy hop impact this time doesnt ruin Belgian. Moderate sweet with moderate to light bitterness. Decent, solid brew

Bottle - Slightly hazy deep golden colour, durable large frothy white head. Flowery and herbal hop nose alongside the typical belgian fruity estery aromas. Taste is well balanced between belgian sweetish malty character and subtle classic continental hop features. Medium body, medium carbonation, silky mouthfeel, decent hoppy finish, alcohol is well hidden. Nice, well rounded hoppy belgian strong ale.

Bottle@home. Two finger foam. Orange haze. Peppery Spice notes. Dry some alcoholic mouthfeel. Love the hop alcoholic balance. The malts subdue the yeast and hops. Still nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nagyon erős keserűsség, ami sokáig megmarad utóízként. Határozottan gyümölcsös, kissé savanykás íz.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Hazy golden, creamy ivory head. Big apricot aroma - both fresh and dried, some corn? The taste has a pretty big honey pale sweetness with notes of tart fruit, balanced and died up by a pretty strong bitterness with quite a bit of alcohol in it. Some corn grits here and there. Quite nice, maybe too boozy.

Tasted on 5/4/16 from a capped 330mL bottle purchased at Frugal. Pours hazy pale orange with a thick, smooth white head that slowly recedes to thick lace. The nose is sweet candi and honey malt with some light bread, a touch of earthy yeast, and very light hops spice. The flavor is a fairly sweet honey attack, moving to some light bitterness and the same yeasty character from the nose, and finishing with more candi sugar sweetness. The body is nearly full with very lively carbonation, and a medium honeyed and lightly bitter finish.

Draft at the Quad Alehouse for my birthday. Decent head. Aroma were classic spicy/fruity Belgian. Hoppy flavors gave it that difference they were looking for. No bad
