COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2014 Troebel, geel/lichtoranje met hele grote, vlokkige schuimkraag. Duidelijk aroma van hop, gist, citrus. Beetje zoet brood in de neus. Bitterheid overheerst in de smaak, licht zurig, zeer licht zoet. Nasmaak is vooral bitter.

Dark yellow cloudy with small white cap. Mild balanced with strong remaining bitterness and clear sweet notes.

Supridingly hoppy Belgian beer, I like its taste. Unfortunately, carbonation is too high, as it is in most Belgian ales.

Well hereís a tasty treat. Hazy orange, ample and long lasting head, great lacing. Plenty of hoppy goodness in the smell with some sweet notes. The taste follows the nose, love the German and English hop use, blends well, finishes dry and very refreshing. Iíl have another 750 please but not right now, eh?

Bottle sample at Rogue Brewery tasting at Beer&Beyond, Tel Aviv. Cloudy yellow with foamy off-white head. Interesting floral aroma, yeasty. Hoppy and yeasty flavor, citrus peels, fruity, medium sweet. Alcoholic. Medium body.

330ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Golden amber in colour with a very large and long lasting white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is yeasty, some brett, lots of lemon citrus, floral hops. The flavour is moderately yeasty, nicely hopped, light sweetness, bitter, lots of lemons, grassy. Bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, high carbonation. Finishes long, hoppy, dry and bitter. I like this one for sure. Hoppy Belgian Strongs are some of my favorites.

33cl bottle poured in a De Dolle glass. Pours a star wcolour with a bubbly white head. Aroma and taste is much like its tripel counterpart but less sweet and a little drier. Very nice drinkable beer but although the ABV is lower than the tripel it feels a little stronger with quite a good mouthfeel.

was not very impressed with this beer and how I wanted to like it so. It had a golden orange color with an average foamy head. Well carbonated. The aroma is more in tune with bottle lemon juice, tart and lemony. Flavor is not much better. Tart and lemony. The alcohol slaps you right from the start. Bitter at end. Very dry and leaves a nasty aftertaste. Now Iím just an average joe but I couldnít even finish this one. Thaíts right, itís a drainer. This style is new to me as well as most Beligum made American style beers and since I have just the one bottle Iíll have to do some further research on this topic.

Hazy yellow, huge, frothy white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, has hops and hints of banana. Flavour is malty with caramel, citrus and warming alcohol.

Interesting Belgium IPA, and this is not a typical American version. Well, itís a strong ale , to be exact. A burst of citrus, coriander and melon. I?m digging for hops.. its there, but not prominent. Refreshing! Cheers!
