COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2014 Troebel, geel/lichtoranje met hele grote, vlokkige schuimkraag. Duidelijk aroma van hop, gist, citrus. Beetje zoet brood in de neus. Bitterheid overheerst in de smaak, licht zurig, zeer licht zoet. Nasmaak is vooral bitter.

Cloudy yellow with fine old-newspaper-colored head that fades moderate-slowly to thin attractive film. Aroma is huge apple juice, slightly vinous, touch of honey. Yum!! Body is medium-to-medium-light oily-watery, light carbonation but with prickly, moderate burn, medium-fine. Flavor is moderate apple juice, farm hay, pleasant clean bitterness in the finish that doesnít linger. Delicious, in my opinion. No complaints.

750ml bottle from vanuxeem, all to myself :-) Sherbety and refreshing. A cross between duval and hommelbier, but without duvalís bitterness, well balanced. Presentation is superb in a chalice glass, lovely head tight and beautiful colour. 8% abv not overpowering. Het anker brew some superb beers!

Bottle from Beergusto web shop. Hazy orange golden color with huge white head. Biscuity malt, candies, bitter hops in aroma. Sweet malty taste with candies, Belgian yeast, Saaz hops, orange zest, spices, light tartness in finish. Alcohol is well present. Enjoyable beer.

Aroma: grain malts, light floral hops, light sour and yeast. Appearance: hazy, pale gold, massive, frothy, white head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: turns quite sweet, malty, grains, cereals and bread, sudden hoppy flavour comes up, floral, turning bitter, quite lively carbonation. Overall: very interesting Belgian Strong Ale, quite like the hoppy flavours. Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with thick and lasting head. Aroma has yeast, citrus, caramel and some banana. Taste is first a bit sweet but ends to a long lasting bitter, quite dry and hoppy finish. Refreshing but still quite strong body. Flavors of caramel, citrus and yeast.
