thornecb (1208), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jul 28, 2008 Pours dark gold into a tulip. Fluffy conglomerate head with excellent retention leaves spider lacing as it slowly recedes. Orange and anise aromas. Sharp upfront with pine and a lasting bitter resin finish.
malrubius (502), USA Nov 21, 2008 750 ml split in Westmalle glass. Hazy pale straw color with lasting thick white head and lace. Hoppy lemon grass yeasty spice aroma. Mild melon sweet fruitiness with spicy fresh hoppiness mild funk and lingering tingling bitterness. Medium body and carbo. Nice soft mouthfeel. I like this style. And I love this beer. Incredible. JohnQPublic (252), Brooklyn, New York, USA Nov 20, 2008 Bottle into chalice. Pours a hazy honey blonde, with a huge, dense, pillowy white head. Nose – Some spicy yeast, big grassy hops that tend to recede a bit as the beer warms, hints of pear and apricot. Taste is big and yeasty up front, with notes of pear, with a light, refreshing, grassy hop quality that’s huge when the beer is cool, but recedes noticeably as the beer warms to room temperature. Mouthfeel is creamy and full, with a light body that feels bigger than it is because of the spot-on carbonation.
hapjydeuce (613), Carlsbad, USA Nov 19, 2008 Bottled, sampled at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop. Clear golden color that develops a huge frothy white head. It has the unique Belgian-style skunky and peppery Saaz hops aroma. Spicy Saaz hops dominate throughout the flavor with slight hints of Hallertau. A bit of lemon citrus shines through as well. This would go really well with a light fish or chicken dish. Strong, bitter finish that is crisp and easy despite the 8% alcohol. drfabulous (784), Columbia, Missouri, USA Nov 18, 2008 Lots of perfume in the aroma. Light. Much lighter than I expected. Not overtly hoppy. Spicey. GMCC2181 (485), Bear, Delaware, USA Nov 18, 2008 Another bottle shared by robert at stateline. Light yellow in color, good head. Aroma was spicey hops. Taste was kind of spicey as well. Touch of hops in there as well. Kind of a hybrid beer, a mix between a saison and an IPA. The texture was light and easy to drink. Overall a beer that I was impressed by.
