COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

Bottled @ Aarhus Beerfestival 2008. Aroma is yeasty, bit cheesy, bit grassy. Pale yellow coloured with a white head. Taste has some bitterness, yeast, citrus, grass. Bit too carbonated.

Bottle (also had this on draught a couple of times in Belgium). A hazy golden pour with a decent white head. Floral, hoppy aroma. Tastes rather bitter, sour, citrus, fruity, hoppy. Rather hard going for me anyway. Really love Het Anker but not this particular beer.

Bottle at ZBF 2008. Cloudy orange - white head. Soapy - dry - bitterness. Dry grassy, light body, light yeasty, pepper, light spicy. OK !!

[1159-20080301] Bottle. Alcoholic vomit aroma with a bit of sweet fruitiness. Hazy, yellow light brown body with quick white foamy bubbles. Sweet wheatie flavour is a little toasted and yeasty bitter. Medium body is a little sour. Surprisingly underwhelming, would like to re-rate if possible.

Great Head that fades slowely, great lacing, cloudy blond color, but not much distinstion for flavor as hops go. As a strong ale it is OK for its alcoholcontribution, sweet, but weak on fruits. As a hopped Belgian there are better versions. Distinctive but not the best use of hops.

Pours a murky SRM 5 with big white head. Citric but not lemon or orange. Medicinal with some bandaid. Some hop in the finish with EXTREMELY high carbonation. Actually made me a little sick.

Bottle. Yellow with pretty, voluminous white head. Smells like maple syrup and lemon. Mild sweet taste with crisp dry finish. Like some of their others better.
