A christmas spice hop aroma, with cakey malt, caramal, banana, currants, licorice, and rum. A full malty palate, sugary, with caramal malt with those christmas flavours picked up in the aroma. The finish is firey and spicy. gerardoluna (195), Mexico

Poured a dark brown, effervescent body with a medium off-white head. Nutty, mildly cardboardy, brown sugary, candied, and spicy. Apples, sweets, malts, bubblegum, and coriander flavors. Held up well being cellared. Great tasting complex beer. dkachur (2349), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Flavour is very sweet, a bit sour, christmas spice (speculaas), roasted malts. Again, like most of their beers, way too sweet for me. puzzl (2599), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Deep brown pour with a minor head. This beer was not what I was expecting at all. Pine and juniper dance around the malt-sweet and charcoal aroma. Big, lightly sweet malts in the flavor are unctuous but extremely drinkable, with a fast, tobacco and floral finish. Definitely the most drinkable 10.5% alcohol beer I’ve ever had. Well done.
