Gouden Carolus Noël (Christmas)

Pours a two-fingered creamy white head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Cloudy mahogany color. Strong carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Raisin/plum nose. Flavor - sweet raisin, caramel and spices, high ABV is noticeable. Nice Christmas ale. 750ml bottle, gift from Liquid Solutions Oregon City, Or.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is alcohol, candis sugar, orange. Flavour is spices, alcohol, hop, cellar notes, candis sugar, roasted. Harmonic christmas beer.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with tan colored head. Sweet candy caramel and spice aroma. Sweet spicy malt flavor.

750 ml bottle Lots of dark fruit and banana on the aroma of this brown ale with smallish fizzy head. Flavor was more dried fruit and caramel. Alcohol burn and nice fruity finish. Very yummy.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours dark with a tan head. Aroma of licorice, spices, and citrus. The flavor is smooth, spices, licorice, citrus, and fruit. Great Beer.

RE-RATE. Bottle. Pours rich crimson brown with nice, clinging lace. Aroma is banana that is quickly offset by sweet berry, concealed in part by sour malt. Flavor is a rush of banana followed by a sweet malt that slowly fades along the back of the tongue. Spicy wood and hints of alcohol are detectable as well. Full mouthfeel. Much better than the last bottle I had.

750 & 330 ml bottle compared. Mahogany body with big beige head. Complex aroma, candysugar, malt, fruit and alcohol. Flavor is complex and sweet. Candysugar, malt, alcohol (less than expected) yeast, spices, dry fruit and some caramel. Nice and interesting, but the sweetness may be to overpowered after a few glasses. The difference between small and big bottle is minor, one extra year storage make more to this brew (smoother).
