| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 3, 2006 Poured a nice dark copper color with hints of ruby and a thin white head. Aroma of cinnamon, coriander, and a hint of pit fruit. Palate is exceptional. Silky, but not thick. Taste has a sweet start and smooth finish. The Belgian yeast notes and spices complement each other nicely. This brewery doesn’t get talked about as much as some others, but they put out some great brews. OleR (2033), Oslo, Norway

A wide range of pleasant aromas; Dried dark fruits, cream-caramel, dark rum, red berries, spices... Taste is rich and complex as well, sweetish malts dominates with lots of fruits and spices and warming alcohol with a vineous (port) touch. Full body. An excellent Christmas seasonal. mboland67 (1), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2006 A great seasonal brew. Lots of things going on. Has sort of slight taste of bubble gum and spice. I’ve been told to lay one of these down for a year as they only develop and get better. We will see! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Medium, fluffy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of alcohol, sweet fruit. Clear with an amber hue. Average carbonation, medium body. Taste yeast, fruit, sweetness, alcohol. Finishes smooth and sweet which is very impressive for such a high alcohol content ale. Good stuff! | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Dec 2, 2006 750 ml bottle. Pours to a murky, garnet color, with a thick, creamy, off white head, and a lively carbonation. The nose is very inviting, with lots of big aromas of toffee, sweet malt, fruity esters of apple, and peppery alcohol. The palate is firm with good toffee and caramel malt flavor, paired with a really delicious, estery/apple flavor, and hints of spicy yeast. This beer finishes with more good toffee and apple notes up front, then ends with some soothing, alcohol warmth that lingers. Really a delcious beer, packed with big aromas and flavors. Very drinkable for a 10% abv beer. A great Christmas brew to sip and savor by a roaring fire. The fruity esters in this one almost give it a hard cider character to it, and with the malt character, this beer tastes like an alcoholic caramel apple. I really enjoyed this one. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Bottle. High and lasting off-white head. Hazy red brown body. Aroma dominated by anis and other spices that I cannot figure out. Licorice flavour with a touch of lemon and again spices I cannot recognise. The high alcohol percentage is well hidden. Long aftertaste of licorice. Of course the result is still quite sweet, nevertheless well done. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
