Commercial Description:
For the Christmas and New Year festivities the Gouden Carolus range is now extended to include this seriously heavy strong brown ale. Het Anker are thus rekindling a long lost tradition from the days of yore when they marketed Cardinal Christmas and Anker Christmas.

Burned sugar, candy, warming full malt. Smooth, bitterness in the finish. The alcohol strength is evident, and almost masks a fine flavour of dried fruit.

0.33l bottle (for Mexican market (!!)) at the Hopdevil in Zagreb
Scant traces of a tan head on a beautiful dark red body. Lovely nose; spicey, berries, malt, orange peel, a touch of alcohol. The taste is very nice too. A tad earthy. Grapes, caramel, a faint touch of bubblegum, hints of mint, apricot flavoured candy. Yum. Faint malty/bitterish aftertaste. Damn smooth and a great beer.

Bottled. Very dark brown coloured with a medium sized tan head. Very complex and sweet. Malts, candied sugar, liqourice, caramel and various spices.

A great beer. It had cinammon aftertones. Medium, cloudy body. Very unique and sweet.

no. 52. And the second real disappointment of the party for me. The aroma was very gross, like sour milk. An untasty, icky beer.

Draught at "Den Tatoverede Enke" Clear dark red/brown - white head. A lot of licorice, high hopped, red berries, sharp hoppy, very nice.

På fad 2006, Den tatoverede enke. Klar mahognifarve med lyst skum. Dufter af kirsebær, heksehyl og lidt skolekridt men også julekrydderier. Smager af de samme ting. Er dejlig og ikke så tung som frygtet.
