pilsnerrogge (1770), Finspång, Sweden Dec 3, 2005 Dark redish brown colour. Rich head. Liquorice aroma. The flavour is loaded with salty liquorice with dashes of caramell and oranges. Warming alcohol on the finish. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA Dec 2, 2005 Served on tap. Cloudy dark amber color with a thin tan head. Aroma had raisin, caramel, rum, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple cider and other spices. Taste was laid back for the strength with a good rum and apple cider finish. A solid holiday beer that I would have again. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2005 Little head, brown in color. Spicy aroma with some mint presence. Very licorice taste with very little ending. lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium Nov 29, 2005 An intens dark chesnut brown coloured beer, slight hazy and with a creamy beige froth. Aroma is malty and has hints of dried raisins, grape sugar, chocolate and some roasted hints too. taste is very silky and has a full-bodied caracter. You can notice touches of milkbread, caramel, butter-toffee, some soft spices, Zanzibar cinnamon, caramel malts, dried fruits like raisins, malts, cookies and soft roasted edges of sweet bread. In the afthertaste there is a well integrated touch of hop bitterness. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 28, 2005 Updated: Dec 11, 2006Tap 2003. Hazy dark amber body with a small white head. Very sharp sweet caramel and sugar aroma. Gentle caramel and spice flavor.
Tap 2004. Hazy brown color with a thin fully diminishing head leaving light lacing around the glass. A bit of a licorice aroma and flavor. MrWalker (927), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 25, 2005 Bottle 33 cl. BB 09.08.09 Roses (first time I’ve ever smelled that in a beer!), honey and oranges in aroma. Very nice and christmasy. First taste is very sweet, then the honey comes through. Upons swallow the alcohol content is quite powerful. A bit of caramel is present in the vineous aftertaste. A bit one dimensional after the initial impressive aroma. Leaves a sweet residue on your lips. Needs another year in the cellar. Good thing I have a few more bottles :-) Veer (355), Landskrona, Sweden Nov 22, 2005 Updated: Sep 27, 2006First time:
