| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2008 On tap at Badaboomz. Pours a dark slightly hazed reddish brown. Lightly sweet. Round malt. Fruity bit of bite. Subtle nose. Thinner body. Still. Low carbonation. Sweet. Rather tannic somehow. Dark malt character, raisins. Toasty, which I don’t care for much. Fruity cherry, with some spice perhaps. Higher alcohol in the flavor than the nose suggested (makes sense seeing the ABV here!). Lingering toasty finish. The toast and thinner body ruined it for me. Who knows, might be a good ager. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

Slightly sour aroma with brown sugar and cinnamon spiced apple notes. Taste is sharp and raisiny with caramel and spice burn at the onset, and ebbs to smooth balance. Finish is lightly carbonated with biscuity taste and alcoholic warming. Rating #600. Draft 13 oz/$7.50 ghawener (1000), San Salvador, El Salvador
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 17, 2005 Bottle: Dark, red-brown color with a medium short lived beige head. Aroma is bittersweet, caramel, coffee and chocolate. Unfortunately the taste is overpowered by a strong alcohol presence; licorice and caramel notes. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA

Here’s the deal: all of these belgian breweries have a christmas beer which is only different in the fact that it is hoppier. they are like that. i remember the good one from this brewery actually beeing good and this being similar, less so, but more hoppy. screw you, i dont have to justify myself to you. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2003 Dark, purple-red color with a medium thick, khaki colored head. Smells of hops, dates, nutmeg spice, raisins and a lingering German hop smell remniscent of Heiniken and other german lagers (not a good thing). Flavor is sweet and strong with cherries, malt, raisins, dates and anise. Aftertaste is sweet and spicy and hangs on the tongue for quite awhile. Pretty good winter ale, although not great.
