4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bunget (317) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 19, 2013
330ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden body, huge white head with excellent retention. Aroma of yeast, spices, apricot, herbal hops, honey. Taste is light and refreshing: herbal hops, plenty of spices, pear, sweet malt, cloves. Very enjoyable.
3.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Slepkov (28) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 15, 2013
Hazy apricot colour with stiff and lathery head. Honey, apricot jam, and mandarin orange on the nose. Only a light yeastiness on the nose, as the overall impression is of lively citrus and honey. In the palate, a little thin and heavily effervescent, with sourness and bitterness in equal quantities. Considerable (and not entirely pleasant) mineral-steeliness. Very short finish. Almost aborted finish. Alcoholic. I expect a creamier texture and more spiciness.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Spab (1639) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 15, 2013
330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a hazy golden yellow with large, puffy white head. Aroma is banana, wheat, bubble gum and citrus. Flavour is full of sweet fruit - banana, lemon and pear - with wheat and clove notes. Alcohol is quite subtle. Rather nice.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Xstream (98) - - APR 15, 2013
It’s like a strong white beer. Has the usual wheaty and grainy texture, the haziness in the beer. Fruity flavours, not too sweet, balanced by some bittering spices. Lovely smooth beer!

Golden pour, delicate white head. Aroma of straw, yeast, alcohol. Mildly sweet, boozy and bready, pleasant dry finish. Very nice example of the style.

Golden, sweet and sour with a long finish and a beautiful frothy head. One of the best tripel I ever tried.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 shaynsawchuk (165) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - APR 8, 2013
330 mL bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a thick mousse. Aromas of banana, clove, coriander, chewing gum and a touch of ginger. A touch of sweetness, and a yeasty mid palate, leading into a zesty hop finish. Herb and floral notes on the lingering finish. Creamy on the palate with high carbonation. A solid tripel, well made.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hateball16 (83) - - APR 7, 2013
Pours lovely light orange golden (hazy), with a massive frothy white head that continues to lace all the way down the glass. Fruit aromas feature prominently, along with spicy peppery notes. Medium body, moderately high carbonation, fruit flavours abound, I get pear, citrus and even some blackberry. Finishes nice and bitter, whether due to hops or the belgian yeast I am not sure. Lingering alcohol warmth. Stonking.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 bartlebier (459) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 7, 2013
33cl, Het Anker 6x33cl sampler from brewer @Brugs Bierfestival 2013. - Was very impressed and surprised with the extreme fruitiness of its aroma and taste: a whole basket of ripe fruits (pear, banana, mango, lychee) is contained in its yeast profile and offset nicely by earthy herbal hops - then, the syrup set in and with the next sips, this refreshing bouquet turned into a fruit coulis, getting stickier with every gulp. Low carbo for a Belgian tripel. Truly a dessert tripel - any chance of ever brewing this without the added liquid sugars? Surely malts, yeast and hops this fine can do without the cloying palates of yesteryear’s preference?
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 neongolden (166) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 5, 2013
(330mL bottle from LCBO) Pours a slightly hazy orange-gold with a huge meringue of white head that faded slowly and left huge lacing. Aroma of pear, green apple, bubblegum, lemon, pale sweet malt, light Belgian yeast. Flavour apple, orange/lemon, candy sugar, pale malt, sweet at first. As it starts to dry, mild yeast spices, bubblegum, some hop bitterness in the middle. Returns to a bit of sweetness on the finish, lingering apple and sugar. Mouthfeel medium-full, carb soft and effervescent though most seemed to end up in the top half of my Duvel tulip in the head. Alcohol light on the finish. Good tripel, well-balanced, no complaints but not quite in the top echelon.
