3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A somewhat yellow, little bit cloudy beer with a nice fluffy layer of foam. A sweet, fruity aroma with a touch of apricot. It tastes quite bitter, with a touch of licorice and alcohol. The aftertaste doesn’t last long.
Een lichtgeel, iets troebel bier met een mooie schuimige kraag. Zoet fruitig aroma, met de hint van abrikoos. De smaak is vrij bitter, met de hint van alcohol en drop. De nasmaak blijft niet lang hangen.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big bottle poured into Belgian tulip glass. Very pleasant aroma with a spice undertone. Golden colored tripel with glass-clinging lacing and a light head. Initially tastes very good like a true tripel with the undercurrent of sweetness. It did, however, fall into a slight metallic finish. Additional sips seem to eliminate the metallic taste but something slightly off in general. I would consider this a second tier Belgian tripel but willing to give it another try.

Big corked bottle from haskells. Hazy golden with white head. Smells great. Some citrus. Has typical tripel flavors throughout but I got some metallic flavor. Mouthfeel is ok but effected by the metallic tastes. My first one from this brewery, can see potential.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 330ml. Clear amber beer with a strong sweet aroma and a sticky white head. In my opinion it has a medium sour taste, but I found it very pleasant. The taste stayed in my mouth long after I drank it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
golden, sligthly clouded, a lot of sparkles, huge white head, lasting. Nose: initially overdose on citrus which is dominating, but gradually gains on complexity with sugars, fruity, spices. Taste is citrus, banana, alcoholic. MF: sweet, creamy smooth finish, some alcohol. Overall a complex brew, again "Het Anker" prooves that they are one of the better Belgian breweries still to be discovered by the main public imo. Only negative part is that I have too much citrus in the nose in this one, but can appreciate this fine beer.

This beer gave me the twitch when I first sipped, swirled, breathed in and then swallowed. You know that twitch your body does when it tastes something delicious? Yea, that Listening to Roo Panes - Open Roads is just a plus

33 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy golden with a moderate white, fluffy head that remains and laces well. The nose has notes of pale malts, grassy hops, honey, citrus, fruit and delicate spice. The flavour is moderately sweet with grainy, honeyish malts, a touch of fruit and a nice delicate spiciness. Subtle grassy hops pick up towards the end, as it becomes slightly bitter as well. Distinct banana notes emerge towards the end as well. The finish is long, balanced, grainy, grassy and spicy. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, creamy texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent tripel, the flavours are elegant, complex and harmonious. It would be interesting to see how this holds up to some aging. 2013-06-22
