Commissioned for the Lichtfeesten of Reet, a stereotypical tripel with sticky, loose, creamy, lightly beige head and peach blond colour, cloudy. Sweet fruity, yeasty and florally hoppy aroma, melon, honey, gin, orange peel, coriander, something sulphuric (fried egg). Soft sweetish fruitiness in the mouth, not sugary or sticky, mild carbo, light caramelly and honeyish malts, coriander touch, but unfortunately solvents too which become stronger in the finish to the point where they reach a plastic-like ’chemicality’ which more or less ruins it for me, especially since the wryness is further enhanced by badly hidden alcohol. Not a very good tripel.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and huge foamy head. Lemony fruity and slightly bready cara-malty aroma with flowery hops and Belgian yeasty spice. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Bready malt-character with a tinge of caramel and delicate notes of citrus, peaches; moderately sweet malty, subtle fruity and slightly bitter hoppy finish. 03.X.11

11/10/9/9/6/9

Bottled. A light golden beer with a slight haze under a thick off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, and wheat as well as lighter notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, fruit, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle, courtesy Bierpub Shammy’s, Antwerpen. Beyond best before date, Dec 2008. Clear golden colour underneath a big, lacing head. Yeasty, alcoholic and with a herbal nose. Raisins and herbal hops flavours, noticeable alcohol, yeasty notes. Enhanced by age in my case, but decent in any case.

Golden blond coloured beer with lots of carbonation and an average white head. Herby, hoppy and yeasty touched aroma with some minor alcoholic hints. Full yeasty palate. Finish is again rather bitter yeasty, with some light alcoholic touches. Medium tripel.
